He's the provocative one half the time I'd say. He want's to keep his petulance under control because one day he'll do it to the wrong person and he'll get knobbled.

Dont mind it if he has aggression. Id rather he keep that and removed the retaliation from his game, like the tackle from gent game at wembley.

Half of the time Alli gets fouled and kicked at his so quick of mind he needs more protection.

I love his attitude, and this helps make him the player he is.

He is a young hungry player, and in good time will learn the error of his ways.

Yeah, I'd probably lash out too if I was constantly getting kicked and pulled, game in and game out, with hardly any decision going my way!

Some of this is just a kid growing up. Most players have to figure out what sort of player, or character, they are at his time of life. It's easier to get it right if you're not always in the media spotlight. I have a feeling he'll become a great player, just hope his best years will be in a Spurs shirt.

He's not averse to a snidey dig at an opponent either. His early career with us saw some quite nasty stuff from him and I think his card has been marked as a player who can be wound up to do something stupid. Too late to change any of that now though.

You can always change.

Yes you can, but it's a lot harder to get rid of a label once it's been applied. Quite a bit of his early petulance was utterly unnecessary but he can't undo any of that now which is a shame. So many of the 'hard man' pundits like Souness say it's good to have a 'bit of nasty', but in their day you could get away with it. Can't get away with anything now.

He's not a "hard man" though, he's just being a petulant kid... Which is normal in a lot of young players with fire in their belly down the years. He'll grow out of it, and the petulance will temper into nous.

Still one hell of a prospect, and is going to be a great player.
