Absolutely deserves to start more games than he does. His vision and crossing ability is such an asset. Start him against the teams that sit back and don't allow us to utilise Walker's counter attacking talents.

Keeps Trippier happy and saves Walker from burn out too.

Totally agree with this. Both can be highly valuable players in different circumstances. Lucky to have them both and hopefully Poch can balance out playing time to keep both happy and engaged.

A lot of clubs would love to have either of these guys

I would leave this summer if I were him. He is easily good enough to start for almost every team in the league, yet he plays for one of the few clubs that has a better RB than him on the books.

Could be in the England squad if he was playing regularly. His crossing is unbelievably good.

Played great yesterday.

Not mentioned by the media but did anyone else note the contribution to the first goal? Won the tackle and was involved twice more with controlled passes out of tight defensive positions.

Apart from the fact that Walker has said he spent a lot of time working on his attacking game and is one of our most improved players vs 2-3 years ago

Walker is criminally underrated. Yes Trippier is excellent against cannon fodder lower table side and I rate him highly but would have Walker every day when up against top class oposition left sided attackers defensively
I think you missed the tongue in cheek reference to him not being the sharpest tool in the box.... Calm down he is an incredibly good player for us and I'd not swap him. Trippier is, however, far superior in the final third.

Been discussed before but first choice for a mediocre team, or rotating for a top four / title challenging team in the Champs league?

Only 4 defenders on the PL have more assists than Trippier this season.......Trippier has only played 7 games.

I got 7-1 on an anytime assist on Saturday for Trippier. Janssen was 4-1 to score the first goal. Strange odds but easy money. Always fancy him to get an assist, especially at home against weaker teams. Also think that 3-4-3 suits him perfectly. Would be interested to see if Walker could play as a centre back in our current system as Trips deserves more game time but Walker doesn't deserve to miss out.

There is a question mark defensively over Tripper, he has improved defensively but he's not on the same level as Walker which is why Walker gets more games and notably against tougher opposition.

Positionally you're asking for all sorts of problems playing KW as a CB. He's so good in the RWB position because he has cover for his runs up field. I don't think he could ever hold his position as a CB.

I kind of agree but just have a feeling he could do a similar job to Azpiclueta at Chelsea. Walker is very solid defensively and has pace to burn. Toby would need to keep him under control though.

Trripier is positive surprise, he has shown that he can replace Walker when needed. Hope to see his further progress in next seasons as Spurs player.

IMO Walker is a better defender and gets up and down the pitch a bit better, but Trippier delivers some superb balls into the box that Walker could only dream of. We need to play Trippier more against the teams that sit back and Walker against the others.

Trippier had a tough spell this season with form (Poch referenced that he wasn't sleeping due to a new kid).
Last season he seemed to get more games and play better throughout the season.
Back to his best now and should get more games next season.

I don't even think he counts as a rotation player TBH. Yes he's been rotated in the last couple of games but over the course of the season he's played less PL minutes than Lamela who's been injured since October!

You're right he hasn't much. Poch did say that he had issues with sleeping when he had his kid and then he got the rib or similar injury. I think Poch trusts him and I think we will see more rotation in the more "winnable" games. The fact he played in the recent games does seem to suggest he will see more game time and with the possibility of any injury never far away I think he will get plenty of games.

Thought he played well against Chelsea. He didn't cross the ball as much as he would've liked but he played some really smart passes whenever we were pinned down in our own half. At times, the Chelsea players were doubling up on him as they knew the threat of his crossing. Odd that he was shifted to the left side but he did the best he could.

Good player and needs to be in our squad, The way our full backs play we need four. He will though be second to Walker. Walker and Rose add 10-15% to us as a team when both are playing. The biggest thing they do is is scare the opposition with their speed, strength, stamina and threat. Trippier and Davies are excellent players but don't bring the same energy and intimidation factor to the team
