John Terry: Thousands won on Chelsea captain's 26th-minute substitution

By the definition in the FAs own rule book, Sunderland and Chelsea are both guilty of match fixing. They conspired to alter the conduct of the game.

I agree with both Shearer and Crooks, it's leaves a dirty taste in the mouth, not the kind that JTs mum is used to, but a dirty taste none the less.

So what would be the points deduction for match fixing? Seven, surely?

You just know it will be 5 so West Ham can add "stopping Spurs from winning the title" in their trophy cabinet together with their World cup win and Lanzinis 1500 passes for the club.

What fills me with dread is the thought of Sky signing him up as a pundit. Personally I'd like to see him take a big coaching job like Birmingham and royally feck up.

You're right but this is not match fixing, its spot fixing, which is just as bad.
No doubt there'll be some obscure bookies somewhere that would take bets on certain things happening at certain points of the match.

We all know its a massive problem in cricket and that Pakistani lad was jailed for it a few years back...obv i don't think for one second that anyone gained financially out of this, but its the precedent that this has set, as im pretty sure the FA/PL have said they won't investigate it.
Worrying imo.

As ****y as Terry is and the whole episode was in general, I think I'm most annoyed with Sunderland for knowingly going along with it in advance. They've got absolutely zero self-respect; they should have told Chelsea and Terry to get fucked.

what would have happened had cheatski needed to win that match would they have carried out the same sickening act to say goodbye to their glorious **** or would they have not even bothered with him. The fact that 2 premiership clubs did this is very worrying and will set a precedent that others like the spammers will follow for someone like Noble because if cheatski and sunderland get away with it they will think the same

Football Association rules regarding match-fixing state that: “Fixing is arranging in advance the result or conduct of a match of competition, or any event within a match or competition.

Probably worthy of an investigation

Would be if it was Cardiff or someone. No way are the FA doing anything to Chelsea.

I'd love to know what he said to Ledley in the process of getting sent off at the Lane all those years ago.

What's worse as is has been said it's not even a retirement. He's just leaving Chelsea. He was supposed to leave last year too if I remember correctly. He lifted the trophy but did sod all. It was all Cahill, Luiz and Azpilicueta.
