From wiki...........

Although, in England, the transfer window formally opens on 1 July, transfers between clubs in the same league can take place as soon as the last competitive fixtures for the season have been played. However, many transfers will not be completed until 1 July because many players' contracts expire on 30 June. International transfers cannot be made until the window has opened on 1 July. Outside of the transfer window, a club may still sign players on an emergency basis, usually if they have no goalkeeper available. Special dispensation from their competition's governing body, for example the Premier League, is required. The transfer window restriction does not apply to clubs below the National League division

Kind of irrelevant since we don't do much in the transfer market till deadline day anyway. The end date is of more significance to us than July 1st.

Don't think anything will happen till they come back from hong kong. Although i'd love our business done early.

On a side note, is tony stark related to jon snow?

No, but he's related to Howard Stark and Pepper Potts.

interesting from jj in sessegnon thread...
Great news- a full preseason with Poch will give us an insight into how ready he'll be for next season. I remember a similar thing happening with Alli and he took his opportunity. Poch doesn't seem to care too much about age; if you're showing real promise, your work rate matches his expectations then you'll get your chances. He could be a superb wingback, quicker than we realise

He isnt as ready as Dele was for sure.

I see similes with Bale and his need for physical maturity

i think this too, he'll start on the bench for first few games and then be eased in. think he'll relish the opportunity to be playing at wembley too! imagine being a 17yr old and playing regularly there.

Maybe maturity (tactical etc) but not so much physical, watching him this season a few times he beat the sh*t out of a quite a few players when fighting for the ball, he is a lot more physically developed than Bale was or Dele is, he is a strong player, I know it's only Championship but there are quite a few tough players in that league.

Yeah, I've seen him three times last season and the kid simply does not play like a 16 year old - physically or mentally. He also had Trippier looking really uncomfortable a few times in his cameo against us in the cup match.

yakster on ftl: Just been having a chat with an Everton youth team Coach
Lukaku to chelski for 72 million
Barkley definitely leaving and Spurs are the only club to have expressed an official interest

If that's the case, we should be able to drive the price down. Sissoko out, Barkley in for roughly the same money would be decent business.

Can't see them going for Sissoko now. I'd be pleased with us signing Barkley though. Lukaku to Chelsea seems to be a little nuts though, could me Costa is off to China then.
