If Janssen doesn't really see himself being at the club long-term following the pre-season programme, then I would be happy to let him go. I would love us to see us get Defoe, but only if the management felt he could cope with the high-press game we play.

I have huge respect for him, but i fail to see what impact he has had at the club. I cannot fault him for his effort, or desire, but with that needs to come ability and at this level in this league he has disappointed.

Defoe you say?

I would certainly hope our ambition is light years ahead of signing a thirty four year old journeyman.

If Defoe could get 15 goals for us, that could make the difference.

He does wind me up with the number off off side runs he makes, but he does know where the goal is.

I'd have him back.

Erm, nothing article for me. Those quotes could easily be used in an article where Janssen is happy and wants to stay and we would all be happy with everyone hoping for a better season. He doesn't know if spurs want to keep him. So keeps it open #fakenews.

Yes but if we could get a young player who could get us 15 goals in a season then that could make the same difference.

But the thing is, he'd be still there the following season looking for 20. Defoe wouldn't.

First season syndrome... I think like Son the second season will be much more productive.

I do like Iheanacho mind you.

Trouble we've got is no one is going to replace Kane ,and no top striker is going to want to sit on a bench.
Only place where we could get a "top player" which could help with goals is the inside forward/winger area who would complete with son eriksen alli.
I would like to keep janssen and hopefully see him push on more next season.....if not and he goes then really we're only going to get a young striker who's willing to wait for his chance and knows he ain't removing kane anytime soon but is willing to take what he can.
Maybe we have this person in our youth setup?

Zaha is the answer. Can play wide or as a second striker to support Kane. Definitely has 20 goals in him. If Poch can get the best out of him, he would be perfect for us.

Poch has proven how good he is at bringing out the potential in young players, given the time do so. Janssen definitely became more of a factor over the course of the season and as such deserves us to give him a fair go. We already have the Number 1 striker in the League(y)so Vinney might just be inspired to take the next step. How good do we have it.

I agree, IF Walker wants to go, then I'd really try to make this part of the negotiation.

Done his acclimatisation probation year
in the Prem, under Poch, with the squad.
Seems silly to throw that away and start all again with somebody else
unless their Prem ready, or one of our own (no signs imminent).
Showed enough industry and talent to merit another season.
Remember how Dele, Son and others stepped up when HK was away

So who would you drop to make way for Defoe, to magically score fifteen goals, twenty odd goal Son or twenty goal Dele?

Please don't say Kane. Please.

We both know this isn't realistic, and flies in the face of the clubs player philosophy.
