I was thinking the same thing. It's so strange that he's in our team. Poch and Levy must have been tripping pretty hard when they sanctioned his signing.
he looks like a rock'n'roll guitarist trying to integrate into an orchestra

At the pace the game was played at, i'm screwing the studs back into my 70's Adidas boots as i type.
That takes me back Gaz...i used to sharpen my metal ones up on the concrete before playing.
Good times.

Was interesting to see some of these players live albeit a friendly. Son & Alli did a nice bit of showboating. Erikssen made things tick. Toby's distribution is so important. Verts & Wimmer dropped a few clangers (late night?). Lesniak & Miller didn't do much. Trippier's crossing was below his usual standard. Wanyama looked keen and sharp. Janssen lumbers along a bit like Giroud. Davies' running syle still annoys me as does Hugo's kicking. Amos & Sterling were very keen. Kane's cameo was brilliant. The less said about Sissoko the better.

That's hilarious. I can only imagine Jansen was doing a "hey let's celebrate this farce preseason cup overtly just as a laugh" kinda thing.

Exactly. It just made me like him even more. It was a genuinely funny piss-take.

People slag off his record for us (not without justification) but it's worth remembering that he got thrown in at the deep end when Kane got injured, and has been deputising for a two-in-a-row golden boot winner. We're not Chavski and can't afford expensive bench strikers like Batshitsonyou, so he's probably not far off what we need in that role. If he brings a bit of humour and character to the squad, all the better.

Hoisting the trophy like that is the most banterrific thing I've seen in weeks. Deserves a new contract on that basis alone.

Just watching this game now. Nkoudou has looked lively, bit hard to see why we didn't see a bit more of him through this season. Got tricky feet and some pace. We keep hearing how this is high on Poch's wish list. He set up the second goal with a nice bit of play. Janssen's shown some nice touches and took his goal well. Son was a bit greedy for his goal (had Janssen clean through) but took it well enough.

Lesniak's played pretty well, you can see him doing the dropping in between the CB's thing (I mentioned noticing him start doing this for the U23's during he previous season, clearly this is something coached) I also like how he's constantly in motion looking to receive the ball off the CB's or players around him, he doesn't just stand still or hide from them like Dier does sometimes. Also very two footed. Out of Sissoko and Lesniak I know who I'd prefer in CM.
