He might decide he's off if Rose benches him again for too long. Hard to keep two such good players happy for long.

After the away game at Liverpool, I thought his days at the club were numbered, he was that bad. But I think he's grown into the role over the second half of the season and it's great to have him. He'll have to play second fiddle to Rose, but he should still get plenty of game time.

But then we talk about Walker going to City, possibly to rotate with Alves, and say that he'll play half the games...

Same will probably happen with Davies/Rose next season. Will be a fairly even selection across the season.

As noted by other posters that the Liverpool game may well have been the death of him, but he's come back stronger. It really didn't help that in that game he had no support from Son, therefore constantly exposed to the 2 vs 1 of Mane & Clyne.

Nowhere near as quick as Rose, but he's been steady, as well as reliable & I guess that's all you can ask of a full-back to be. This summer I think we just need a decent left-footed centre-half & a marquee speedster in the attacking midfield; I would be overjoyed if it was Douglas Costa.

But that's the thing wasn't Walker rotated with Trips last season? Was it that Walker was cherrypicking certain game during the season that he wanted to play in, even that the rotate meant that Trips was due to play in?
