i don't see why that's a concern going forward though. it's not like he has a history of injury problems, he just got one bad injury that kept him out for a while and then a minor knock more recently - i doubt he'd have been involved had he been fit anyway due to his contract situation .. that's the real concern.

Didn't @Breezer confirm this wasn't an issue?

Edwards is losing patience according to who????
The Marcus chat is a load of bullshit! He still has 1 more year on his contract and he knows what work needs to be put in... unfortunately injuries haven't helped and breaking into our first team squad is almost impossible these days. Trust me there's no issues from his side! Don't believe everything you read.

@Blake Griffin going by this, I think it's clear Edwards realizes what he needs to do. He's been unlucky with injuries, possible a case of him still growing into his body. I have high hopes for him, but wouldn't want to rush him if it comprises his physical development.

he did but i don't see how there can be no issue when our biggest prospect in years is down to the last 12 months of his contract, if there were no problems then he'd be on a 3 or 4 year deal and everything would be hunky-dory.

IMO, he is nowhere near ready to play for a Top 4 PL team. Don't be fooled by his stats in Scotland, which are pretty good, but it is a dross league. Do you think he could challenge Eriksen, Alli, Son and Lamela?

I wouldn't want Celtic's Dembele either.

Honestly don't know his stats in Scotland, seen bits and pieces of him in Celtic but have seen his ability many a time.

I believe that his ability he could play and affect in the PL for a top 6 club either as a sub or if he had chances maybe better. We are not in a position as everyone says to buy the best so we need to be looking for ways to improve and find hidden talent. It's what Poch has been doing with N'Jie and GKN obviously hoping they are under the radar talent that could come good. They haven't but I think Roberts would, I also think he'd better than Sissoko. If we buy Lemar fine, but if we're going to go down the unknown route as everyone blows us out of the water with wages and we want a player that will play now I think Roberts would be that guy. SPL is crap but not everyone in it is.

Sinclair tears it up he's crap, but there are examples of players shining in SPL who go on to shine outside of it. He hasn't gone there as it's his ability level he has gone there for game time.

If however the choice is develop Edwards and give him chances or buy Roberts i'd go for the former as I think Edwards would also be able to affect things now and is an incredible talent, however I do't think that is going to happen. So with the question who do I think could come in now and do a job and more I believe Roberts could, and with 'league experience' which is what is needed to get proper chances he would get more of a chance.. Just my opinion. If he came through playing in Ligue 1, La Liga, Bundesliga i think a lot more people would be wanting to sign him.

There really isn't a middle ground atm in buying quality wingers. They're either well known and we put up big money or we go under the radar. We tried just paying for expereince in Sissoko and that failed

Not sure if it's a coincedence that TOB and onomah look like dembele clones or if they e really modelled themselves on him.I think amongst players dembele is rated our most gifted player. And a lot seem in awe of him. When I was kid all my cousins were much older than me ,and one cousin especially I really used to try and emulate when we kicked a ball around on a Sunday.I know it's a different level but I think the principle is the same.If theres someone you really look up to as a kid you almost try to become them.

Might be reinforced but I've seen both TOB and Onomah play the way they have since Dembele first joined so doubt that's the reason they started playing like that.

Their game hasn't really changed, and I've noticed people say Onomah must copy Dembele but he doesn't really.

Though have have noticed him started doing the stop ball and turn on the outside of the foot. Though TOB has been doing that since I've seen him. Don't doubt Dembele probably talks to them and give them advice and may even try show some of his tricks (though i suspect a lot of what he does his instinct and can't be coached), and I couldn't think of a better player to learn off in that respect.

wat?
It's an opinion. Forums exist for them.

Nothing you yourself say has much "meaning"; the same applies for everyone here.

Fair enough. Probably didn't articulate myself very well, but wasn't intended to be rude, though comes across like that

Actually think wanyama has learnt off dembele as well.defo noticed towards end of season seemed lot more comfortable on ball and was going on some little runs dembele like.If wanyama could add just a little creativity to his game it's scary how good he could be.

Shashoua looked very physically inadequate in the youth cup semi with Chelsea .I think Edwards gets away with his height as he is more stocky.shash looks very immature to me and miles away from 1st xi .Think only reason he made bench ,was there was literally nobody else.

i know you're only posting them in good faith @edson but that youtube account is some 12 year old gooner kid who steals other people's work and sticks his own music over the top. the original was made by miroP10 who puts a lot of effort into making videos of young players so he should be getting the credit/views (y)

Shashoua is the type of kid that if he was Spanish or Croatian would have everyone demanding we nick him now before he's "too big" isn't he. Lovely close technique.

I was told at the end of last season that Shashoua was seen as a better prospect right now. Can't say I've seen much of him though.

In their first year, I would say Shashoua had the better first half of the season than Edwards but I dont think that would mean he is the better prospect

Edwards is definitely the better prospect right now, as Shashoua is a bit behind

Probably told by a bellend that thought Shashoua and Lesniak were going to be the next crop of youngsters to break through because Poch put them on the bench. A whole slew of articles came out about them and they all ignored the fact that many of the ones we're actually expecting to push through were all either injured or away on international duty.

This isn't to slag Shashoua, but I don't believe anyone thinks he's in the same crop as Onomah, KWP, CCV, Edwards, etc. and is instead in the one behind and still needs more time for physical maturity.
