"Trying " is not bloody good enough. We have had a whole window to try and sign players. What the hell is going on? Everyone can see our squad is thin. We have injuries galore and no recognised right back now with Trippiers injury. Sorry but there is no other way to put it but it's been an utter shambles this window.

Disagree. Patience is a virtue and so is Poch. It is frustrating for us fans but we do not manage the club. I am sure that when Levy and Poch find the right player at the right price we will move. Lamela and Rose are nearly back and yesterday we saw what Sissoko can do following a protracted a kick up his arse.
Let's not unsettle the moral of this squad by buying the wrong player or put in jepody what has been achieved over the past two seasons by incurring needless debt in this inflated transfer market. COYS

It's not good. Pochs chat after the game, saying we can't afford the players like the other big clubs, makes me worry how long he will stick with us. If we don't make the signings and the team and results suffer, then why would he stick around? Itk said poch wanted his signings in by the 2nd week of pre season. He obv wants players, before people say he won't be pissed off. RB situation really annoys me. Walker was going in March last year. He was toast. Since then we have had no bids for any RB and it still looks like we don't even know which one we want. Also don't like ge staidium excuse. This should be funded by loans, not forgetting we have one of the richest men in the world as our owner. So any talk of we can't afford it is rubbish. We choose as a club not to pay it

No sorry mate but if we want to be title challengers and CL regulars then we need to think like it. This defeatist attitude is ridiculous. A bit of ambition wouldn't hurt mate. I'm not saying buy Christiano Ronaldo for 200 mil but there are realistic top players available that we should be getting. It's ridiculous we have left it late as per usual.

You almost had me there, though I called your bluff when you said we should go into this season relying on what Sissoko can do.

If we want to be title challengers we will need to be far more clever than the rest of the league. We can't afford to waste 30 million or 60 million. Player transfers have gone insane 50-70 million for players who would be 20-30 mill 2 years ago.

How many loans at what cost. More debt. Our owner is a billionaire but THFC is a business. If you were the owner would you pump your own money in to incurr further debt I don't think so. We all want success but Chelsea, Man City and United are just owners toys. The owner pulls out the club collapses in debt. Numerous examples like Leeds.

I was pretty happy that we didn't feel the need to join the Premier League bandwagon and spend enormous sums because that Italian Hair Transplant T**t thinks we should.

The media may be fishing but the frequency of comments from Pochettino about us being behind in training and transfers and the fact we are "trying very hard" to bring in players is slightly at odds with Levy's earlier comments that Spurs fans need not worry, all is in hand.

Not having players available and incorporated into the side before the season starts seems to be pointed to as a problem in many a close season, players not fit, not integrated and it seems a real shame that we have delayed to the point where we are "trying very hard".

And if once again we miss out on glory by small margins at the end of the season, fans, perhaps me will criticise points dropped early on.

The only problem with your argument is that we ARE title challengers and champions league regulars, even under the financial restrictions you deplore.

We've got an enormous new stadium to fund. Levy has taken us up a level or two. Once the increased funds from increased ticket sales start rolling in, we'll go up another level. We've got one of the best run clubs in world football.

Such as? Honestly I'd like to know as all I've heard about is Lemar and Barkley. One is being chased by other clubs and the other is keen to join but his club want a ridiculous amount of money considering he has 1 year left on his contract

The happy clappers can't even face the reality when our own manager is saying what we all know.

I was just the other day that people on here were getting shot down for suggesting KWP isn't ready, Poch has now said the same thing.

It was also just the other day that people were saying we need back up options and we needed it weeks ago and they were getting ripped into for that, well, Poch feels the same way, so what are we saying now?

This window has been a fucking shambles so far, we are the only club in the league to have not signed a player, that is shocking for a team with "ambition" and leaving it late never plays out well.

We sold Walker and didn't bring in a replacement and now we are sweating on a backup option, people making excuses like "Dier can play there" it's always the same bullshit.

We are going into the season unprepared whilst every other team around us has got their most important business done, that is the difference.

And don't tell me we can't afford decent quality back up options, we can, but we won't pay up because Levy would rather dig his heels in than pay slightly over the odds and have us ready for the season, it's all about the bottom line.

Look, even if we don't sign a player I still think we will finish in the top four, our first 11 isn't suddenly going to turn shit, we were second and scoring for fun last season, that isn't going to change against the bottom sides suddenly, however, if we truly have ambition to win the league or win a trophy then we need to be active in the market, if we fail to do so it will be another season of no trophies IMO and I would rather a trophy and to show ambition than to just be happy with getting CL football every season.

You're arguing with yourself because no-one in here has remotely said anything like that. :p

Because buying expensive has never been his MO. We are the PERFECT club for him. Develop players, that's his style.

Totally agree. You got certain section of Spurs fans that get more pleasure out of "net spend " than they do going out and showing a bit of ambition to push us that next level up. I'm sure Mancity supporters when Aguero smashed that last minute winner for the title were saying " I wish we had better net spend " .... fact of the matter is we have a chairman that whilst has done some great things, is also an absolute nightmare in transfer market when it comes to preparing the manager for a season. Every summer it's like Groundhog Day. We are always short of something or someone. This summer takes the absolute piss though. Not 1 single reinforcement and not even looking likely or close to making one either. You even have our manager coming out and saying exactly what us sane Spurs fans have been saying for donkeys years. Get our bussiness done early so we can go into a season prepared for once. I can't wait to win the net spend trophy again this season.
