Also, just because we are reported to have been interested/bid for a player, doesn't mean we did/they were first choice.
I am taking the secrecy and lack of itk as a positive and hoping that there are deals we have heard nothing about going on in the background.

It doesn't really feel like there's anything to get excited about today. The most recent ITK hardly makes it sound like a deal could possibly be announced today. I wish I felt differently but I reckon we are still days (at least) away from announcing anything.

True, but we don't want to give up too easily. Lemar, for instance, is wanted by L'Arse, and we know we can't match their wages. Do we immediately drop our interest and move to plan B or C, or do we hold out for as long as we can for our first choice (assuming he is) and hope that we can offer him more than just a big salary? Our lack of action in this window so far could be a sign of ambition as much as a sign of penny-pinching. Hopefully. Or deludedly...
