Villa mate just singing Onomah's praises and thinks he should be first choice now. Brightened my day. Go on, Josh.

P.s. I know the opposition weren't very good but it's great to see Josh owning the physical scrap in men's football. He's been a touch timid in his brief outings for us so far but was really dominating here. Positive.

Caveat - lower league opposition, only the highlights of when he touched the ball...

But he looked very impressive there. Almost like a Dembele clone, but with more forward impetus (both in his passing and the pace he ran/took on players).

Met a Spurs supporter (work related) yesterday, said Onomah could become borderline world class and the chap didnt agree. Prove him wrong Josh, prove him wrong...

I always said that he needs a loan despite that going against Poch's ethos, he clearly needs an identity and some confidence in that midfield role where he's playing constantly and he'll get that at Villa so good move for him as far as I'm concerned.

He's basically a more defensive pogba. His passing is actually quite astute too and he picks the right ones off rather than going for the hollywood pass. He won't score a lot (like dembele) but he'll get the team into decent positions

i'm just following the game on villatalk, only mention of onomah so far was this:
Class play from onomah there. Shame his only output is bloody gabby

it's basically just six pages of "hutton is [insert expletive]" though.

not sure what he did but the villa fans liked it
Onomah that was class!!!
Great skills there, Onomah is the only one out there with some ability.
Onomah and Taylor play the ball on the floor and look what happens - we actually look dangerous
Class by Onomah then. Need him more involved.

some more
Onomah looks the only actual footballer; only a matter of time before Bruce changes that.
Onomah is a cut above, should just give the ball to him at all times.
Onomah is the real deal.
Tottenham youth player is our best player :(
Onomah seems to be the only actual footballer on the team right now
It's scary that he's miles better than players we have blown massive sums of money on. Perhaps a couple of smart loans was always the answer, if you notice, successful teams in this league tend to do it.
Onomah is so much better than the rest of them, wow
Onomah is next level type shit
Positives so far, Onomah has looked good.
only onomah has been decent.
Onomah looks quality, get him on the ball centrally and let him play the ball.
Onomah is class. Everyone else is shit.
Seriously onomah has been outstanding
Can we loan the rest of the Spurs youth team?

Lovely to hear, really exciting

If he carrys on like this expect him to come back next season and slot right into first team, possibly as as a ready made dembele replacement

it's encouraging but also equally concerning that villa appear to be a bit of a shambles.

If Villa are really in shambles, this experience can serve Josh well. Having to perform and give his all in an not so comfortable environment will improve his mentality and self efficacy.

Just did a quick twitter search on Onomah and the villa fans raving despite at 3-0 loss. Encouraging that he can stand out at championship level. Hopefully keep this going and get a prem loan second half of the season

Thanks, I had recorded that match and this has saved me from having to watch it.

When I saw the villa score yesterday and that he had been substituted I thought he must have had a bad game but that's encouraging that their fans are still giving him some compliments despite their loss.
The worry is that Villa look so bad ATM that Bruce starts trying to fill the team with "proper experienced men" and loses trust in kids.
