Newcastle have an above average record against us they have in the past inflicted embarrassing defect on us a few 5,6 score lines I can understand their optimism... They are sometimes a bogey team.
Normally there guaranteed 6 points against us for some strange reason but this time we will not lose.

Newcastle seem confident but then we don't have a first team right back fit, our first choice left back is injured, our first choice CM is injured, our 3rd top scorer is injured and we have a small squad anyway.

They probably feel that they are playing us at the right time...

We had Dier at right back at Leicester last season and won 6-1. I think if he plays there we'll be fine.

Yep but our record up there is shocking. I wouldn't be surprised at any result.

Neither me to be honest. Maybe it's because I have all our other results up there in the back of my mind but I don't see this as a maybe simpler game against a promotion team. I see it as a tough away game at a tough ground. I'd love for it to play out as a game in which we 're just superior and I'm not actively thinking we'll lose or struggle but I'm not exactly massively confident that we'll win either.

Came across some bits regarding Danny Rose on the saints forum while trying to find out whether Gabbiadini is worth having on my FPL team :) Mostly stuff we've heard before, but interesting reading it from other fans.

"Comes across as a bit of a tw*t. Its this short career rubbish again - I've only got one big contract left in me. Why do these football players think that they are incapable of forging another career once they hang their boots up? Sure, they are unlikely to be paid as much as they get given now, but that's not really the point."

"TBF, Rose is massively replaceable. He's probably the worst player in their starting lineup now."

"Being laid off for six months these days seems to mean that you spend a lot of time looking at your bank balance. Can't quite work out the point of going to the Sun. Let's be clear, if that was a Bertrand interview the cretins on this forum, of which there are many, would be in absolute meltdown. Just imagine the tsunami of drivel."

"I hate the modern player. They're trying to sign players for the club now, why is that their job? Knuckle down, get back fit and start playing again. And all this crap about ''I've been injured for a while and it's let me reflect'' - go and do one, is this a new thing now? Use the clubs facilities to get fit but then plot your move away once they get you fit.
Whiny, sulky, multi-million pound **** heads."

"Hmmm... Weren't ITK-ers suggesting Bertrand was going to Spuds this summer?
Made no sense initially - to play second fiddle to Rose - but perhaps this knobhead's interview is about to have an unwelcome knock on effect for us..."

"I'm not sure Spurs can afford him they aren't big spenders and Ryan will be expensive. Rose is only (amazing how mad the PL is when I can say only) on 65k a week apparently. I imagine Bertie will want more than that.
Spurs lack of spending this summer does seem to point to them being a bit fiscally challenged with the new stadium build and having to use Wembley. I bet if they have to replace Rose it will be a young cheap, with potential, type of player."

"Personally i think Spurs would be much better to extract Shaw from his Man Utd nightmare as i think he's actually a better defender than Rose and 5 years younger."

"What a pr*ck. So just throw some money at a big name and hope it works then, worked well for Spurs when they had all the Bale money. They should get rid of him with that attitude, Davies is pretty decent and I'm sure with some good scouting they could find someone who is better than Danny Rose. He's certainly not as good as he seems to think he is."

"Interestingly, some said that the problem Spurs would have is if they sell one player, then it might lead to many others going. Walker, he's gone. Gone from a reported £70k a week to £130k a week. He talks to his ex team mates, or they see what he is earning. They think that they are as good if not better than him, and want the same money. Rose goes to Levy and says so. Levy tells him to go away. Rose goes and cries to the Sun. Of course the last bit is pure speculation."

"Yes, speculation, but entirely feasible.
Maybe Spurs are discovering that they are not as elite as they thought, and part of the food chain just like almost everyone."
This is the problem with clubs like PSG and Man City paying insane wages, it filters down rapidly and millionaires at other clubs suddenly want more.

"Really sick of. Can't even laugh at Spurs because it's getting harder to justify supporting football each season when so many players are absolute cocks. How far can it go before it falls apart now? Fans will realise most players don't give a **** about their club."

"He had to convince himself so many times during the interview that he's not motivated by money, that it shows he's clearly motivated by money. Comes across as a colossal knob"

Some of these are genuine comments from fans of football and not just a club. It becomes more evident when you consider that these comments are coming from a fan base that strongly dislikes us.

The easier thing to do would have been to be happy that a player of ours is kicking up a fuss right before the season but they understand that the problem is a football problem and not just a Spurs one.

Bit quiet on the geordie front, but a few posts from NUFC-Forum.com :

Can see us getting taught a lesson - 1-3 or even 1-4

2-0 spurs I reckon. I can't see Mitrovic making Alderweireld or Vertongen quake in their boots

after watching the opener between arsenal and Leicester i can t wait for sunday
4 0 to us Spurs come across as an accomplished team who dont need reinforcements
they took us for granted last time and lost 5 1
hope they re as aroggant come sunday

Gonna be 0-1 to Spurs, Harry Kane 22nd minute. Will be a spirited overall performance in which we go close a few times but ultimately finish a man down and a goal down.

Comfortable toon win here, spuds don't travel north well and rose has sown some seeds of discontent in their camp. Kane is going to struggle getting on the end of anything inside Clarks back pocket and I'm backing Mitro to have a good game and cause them all sorts of problems

Tottenham have got a really good team, yes they have a lot of injuries and we are there bogey team but they still have quality all over the pitch. We have to keep eriksen and alli quiet which will be hard to do!

Re the Southampton comments, if we can't afford Ryan fucking Bertrand then we have serious issues.
