We were slow out of the blocks and Conte tactical outmanuvered Poch. We kept going and at 1-1 looked like winning but again lack of concentration and goalkeepers error cost us. We currently miss pace and clinical finishing but overall a good performance just lacked the rub of the green.

Yes but beating these sides are bread and butter what gets you the big prizes are getting maximum of your rivals.

Thats true but half of our team today were out of sorts and other than Son, the other subs weren't inspiring. Let's hope that Levy gets the players, that we have been rumoured to being interested, in before the TW closes.

Personally very encouraged by that performance. 70% possession against (an albeit weakened) Chelsea is impressive.
Another day we'd have won easily.

Wanyama looked rusty & was surprised Dier was hooked instead of him - maybe his booking influenced poch's decision.

Kane looks so sharp, a decent summer off has done him the world of good.

Lloris will be disappointed after all he's a world class keeper but these things happen.

Strengthen with a couple or three new faces this week then lets go on a massive unbeaten run.

Fucking love my club these days!! Used to get annoyed losing to Chelsea but expected it. Now I'm gutted because we've outplayed them and left empty handed.

Agree fella on all that

We played ok today just a fart moment and bit of magic from them.

Arguably. But look at how Son changed the mix. Yea we are capable but they soaked up our pressure, and mugged us when most vulnerable. Do feel a Son plus one type player would ask different questions
You are actually arguing against your own opinion. Son does not belong to UTD, Chelsea or City, he belongs to us. So arguably our bench do have game changers as well without having to look at the others in envy. That is the point I was trying to make.

Hated losing to this ratbag team. Hated losing my first home match as a ST holder. But no panic as Wanyama won't lose the ball as many times in the rest of the season and we will only get better
Roll on Burnley next week

Was going to say I wonder if Poch regrets playing 3 defensive Mids at home but with Son being literally the only option and he's not yet ready fitness wise to start it makes my question irrelevant. We desperately need to make an attacking signing asap.

Wanyama was poor, unfortunately he hasn't been the same player since injury. Winks probably would have been a better option around the hour mark, have given the ball away so cheaply at the end and their winning goal might not have happened.

Hey ho we march on!

Tottenham were guilty of poor game management. Spurs, having forced an equaliser, needed to play out the game safely. Instead they let the emotion of the occasion get the better of them and left too many gaps as they went in search of a winner. They also look short of a player with pace who can break down a packed defence.

Spot on

sorry but that's utter codswallop. We dominated them all over the pitch but didn't get the rub of the green.

Bogey team at the bogey ground, we won't win all 38 games, so heads up move on.. next up Burnley. We showed enough quality today, we just met them a top team, a couple of months too early.

Which was exactly the Chelsea gameplan. Sit back, soak up the pressure, make the middle of the pitch crowded, shut Alli and Eriksen out, and dive around our box to win free-kicks to hopefully grab a goal.

They played out their gameplan almost to perfection.

For me, Alderweireld has not been the same since that injury last autumn. His footwork does not seem to be as quick.

I've mentioned it before but I'll say it again, I don't think he's had a single good game at Wembley yet. Although today I thought it was his best performance there.

Lot of posts called it exactly as I saw it, some word for word.
I honestly think we've psychologically lost before we even start whenever we play those shits. Even missing half their starting 11 we start the game like we're shitting a brick or half asleep, can't string 2 passes together and you know instantly its just a matter of time before someone does something totally fkin brain dead ala Son and Toby in Semi final. Today it was Alli.
Knew it would be a goal as soon as he did it. Its like players have no memory of past games.
We took an age to get going but once we did we were all over them, however you never felt like we were gonna score. It was too slow. Stop start stop start. Wanyama was shocking all game. Dier not much better.
Positives, Dembele was fantastic. Best player on the pitch. Kane had great game as well, as did Eriksen. Alli was quiet though.
Son looked a handful when he came on. Perhaps he should have started instead of Dier or Wanyama. Too cautious perhaps?
Still I'm not gonna have a meltdown about it.
Wembley had nothing to do with it imo.
I think we'll comfortably murder Burnley and Swansea in our next 2 games playing like that.

Spot on there think Wanyama needs to be dropped next week don't forget he played nearly all last season and was a beast but needs to get back in the flow same a Dembale.Maybe try Winks and bring Son into the team for a bit of pace upfront.Poch will make changes to keep them all fresh cos we do have a long season ahead. Its only one game at Wembley head up COYS
