Yeh the sooner we get Gazzaniga in the better.....

Just to clarify i am in no way saying he should be dropped, or isnt good enough for us. He is a fine goalkeeper, by far our best since I've been following the club. I just honestly believe he makes too many mistakes, and shouldn't be above criticism for that
Oh no way, of course not. Even Kane isn't above criticism. It's just the 'yeah, I never rated him much' brigade that are baffling me.

You say this but statistics actually back up he's got one of the best distribution in the league. For a team who play out from the back like we do he is actually decent. Most keepers hoof it out because they don't ability or confidence to play passes out from the back like Hugo. Hart, Foster, Mignotlet, Cech, to name a few, can't do what Hugo does.

The best actually, but apparently his distribution is poor.

He twisted when he should've stuck, but it's easy saying that in hindsight.
You wouldn't have said this if Wanyama had kept the ball, played in Harry Kane who scored the winner.
It's the way he's being asked to play, some you win, some you lose...no need to throw the guy under the bus is all I'm saying.
I didn't mean to come across as condescending, but it's a complete myth when people say his distribution is poor, which is what you did.
But the whole point is that a half-dead defensive midfielder facing his own goal is a lot more likely to give it away than turn and get a good pass off under pressure from two men. Statistics can never tell you as much as actually watching football, and anyone who watches us regularly can tell you that the idea of Hugo having the best overall distribution in the league is beyond silly.

Come on, that's not a very realistic or sensible scenario is it lol
Why not? We could have got him, probably got twice as much for Hugo and reinvested it. I know it's obviously never quite that simple, but it would be fitting with our general philosophy.

How often does Victor get mugged like that?...even for a knackered Victor it's extremely out of character.

So what happens when Pickford makes an error or he's not able to play out from the back as well as Lloris is, it's such an unecessary gamble that we don't need to make.

Very disappointed in him today, not necessarily for letting in that excuse for a back pass, that can happen, but the ridiculous throw out to Wanyama was a completely amateur mistake that someone of his experience should never make.

Throwing it out to Wanyama was a mistake? Vic had a pass blocked that led to it, the throw had no impact on the goal.

Come on mate, you know what happens - when Pickford makes an error we sell him and replace him with another keeper, and then we he makes a mistake we sell him and buy another keeper and then when he makes a mistake....

It's probably reasonable for a goalkeeper to assume that a specialist defensive midfielder is capable of keeping possession of the football.

i love hugo and still think he's the best keeper we could possible have at this moment, but i do feel extremely let down by him right now. His mistake hurts so much not only because it was chelsea, but because i held hugo in such high esteem he was right along with the top players that i have seen play for spurs. Now i dont trust him as much as of Bales, modrics, and kings of the past.
