I might be a bit of a Dinosaur - but surely selling half and half scarfs Spurs and Chelsea is taking the royal piss - yet people bought them

Felt a bitter taste in my mouth just seeing them

The only thing I like with the word 'Chelsea' in it is a Chelsea bun. Wouldn't be seen dead with anything even remotely connected to that shabby apology for a football club.

Can understand doing it in a cup final (slightly) but not every week and definitely not with chavs or arse

But if you take it as a memento of an important match in our calendar, like a copy of the match programme, I don't see a problem. I have still got match programmes of the 60's and 70's of some of our matches against Arsenal, Chelsea and ManU.

But that's a debate for another thread.....

What happens to the nine-tenths of these that get made and don't get sold?!

Buy the lot. Cut them in half. Attach Spurs halves to Spurs halves, Chav halves to Chav halves. Sell them on.

"Spurs scarves for a pound...here you go Sir".
"Get yer filthy lurvy Chav scarves 'ere only twenty nicker a piece, Tosser Squire."

I live in Singapore where the Premier League is basically a religion. My colleague who sits opposite me at work is an Arsenal fan, but came into work once wearing a Spurs shirt. I laughed and asked what he was playing at and he said he bought it because he liked the design

When that happens in the UK we'll know that football has really gone strange...

Tourists innit. Lots of visitors to London just want to attend a big premier league game at a big stadium. Bit like going to see something at the Camp Nou or San Siro etc.

There's honestly more important things to get upset about.

Well yes absolutely but that doesn't mean that people shouldn't be upset by it. Nothing we can do about it though. The bubble isn't going to burst.

I assume lower league games are where it's at.

We've sold our soul now, the point of no return was passed when the old girl was pulled down. Only a couple of seasons ago I saw one of these scarves get ripped away from a shocked tourists neck (vs City) and that was in Paxton lower, bloke probably would've been hung if he was in Park Lane...part of me felt sorry for the bloke, but a small part of me was very pleased this happened , I know that sounds awful.
It's no longer a semi religious experience for families and mates, it's now an afternoons entertainment for tourists to drop £200 on replica gear and snap selfies and film the match on their mobiles...I can't help but feel that anyone thinking 'it'll be all better when we get back to the lane' will be in for a nasty shock.
But this is what we all wanted right?

It was ever thus. Get down to your local lower division side on a saturday afternoon, far different experience.

Used to follow Scunny all over the north of england with my dad when I was younger. My nearest team is Wimbledon, but prefer popping up to see Brentford every now and again.

My father-in-law has a season ticket at Cambridge and, after Sunday's result, told me he would buy me one if I changed my allegiance...

I saw those scarfs walking up to the game on Sunday and it actually shocked me, I had to do a double take because I couldn't believe they were selling them.
I guess there are tourists who just want a memento of the match and so there is money to be made but I never thought I'd see a Spurs / Chelsea scarf that's for sure.
