On 1.5M per year and a 5 year contract, I'm pretty sure he could buy a house just about anywhere he wants.30k a week would go a lot further in Manchester than London, too. Could probably buy a house and everything. He'll be lucky to be in digs if he comes here.
Fingers crossed, this gets resolved early next week.
What people say and what they do are often miles apart. We'll see. I hope you're right though
If he does well at spurs though he will get a pay rise each year so might not be too long before he gets to that level if he gets first team minutes this seasonPossible City want to force him to stay to change his mind, but from what we've all read, I'm not sure he has any intention of going back. Turning down £30k a week, we know full well Spurs will not be offering that kind of wage, so it clearly is not just about the money. Interesting.
100%. He'll be a big star for someone - let's hope it's us.Think we'll regret it if this one slips through the net.
I wonder if city are trying to recoup the extra 5m levy squeezed out of them for walker beyond what they wanted to pay. Would make sense. Or they could hope if he has to wait 12 months with them it gives them time to try and change his mind, help him settle etc
I expect City would rather see his career go down the shitter rather than let him come to us.
