The thing is, I've seen plenty of performances like this at WHL, as soon as these players are faced with a bit of pressure they crack. So I just don't buy the Wembley bs. People are desperate for a story.

Really? 17 wins and 2 draws at home last season suggests that there's one big difference to take into account.

It astounds me that anyone can still try and claim that Wembley doesn't make any difference - it's incredible. How much evidence do you need? We've won what, one game in 14 there?

I dont buy into the size of the pitch being an issue but i do think the atmosphere wembley generates, just because its a shit stadium, 2 generations at least behind our new one, will take some getting used to for the players, especially after just playing the last season at WHL, which had a great atmosphere in the main

Listen to Klopp's summing up. According to Klopp his wingbacks are key, and speed is essential to get behind defences.

Not knocking Poch, or bigging up Klopp but he does make sense.

Goal aside, what did Alli do today. Looks off the pace, almost disinterested, even his goal celebration was flat. Team in general looks a little rusty, the usual intensity is missing.
Kane is trying too hard to end this August hoodoo thing, needs to get his head up quicker.
Trippier went awol late on and left us wide open. Walker-Peters should have been used, fresh legs.
Sissoko is beyond poor with the football at his feet.
Poch's subs are too obvious, needed to show something different. We're dominating posession and chances, but can't score, and we bring on Sissoko? Why not bring Janssen on, get someone closer to Kane for support, ask questions on Burnley's defence.

The basics are still there, but we need some freshening up. 2-3 new players as a minimum, and not many days to do it. Aurier to as some dynamism from fullback/wingback, plus someone to add to our front three with some pace and spark.

Caught some highlights of the Liverpool game, their front three look lively and incisive, the way ours did back end of last season, but currently don't.
Same every game. He scores a goal but at what cost, overall? There is an equation and he does suck something form our game, overall.

We'd score more, overall, with someone more effective playing there at times imo.

He's arrogant and feels entitled on the park.

Needs to sort it out. I love confidence, character and aggression etc., but he plays like the opposition owe him something and should allow him to fanny about all day.

Has annoyed me since pre-season.

If he wants to be a top player needs to grow up.

Wimmer clearly off, not even made the bench.
Sissoko makes the bench and is first sub on, that does not look good.

Our first 11 is up there, but one look at our bench today, and Poch's subsequent changes, shows where the gap is that stops us taking the step to the next level.

Next summer is going to be mayhem if we can't sort this shit out.
People on here mocked me laughed at me and as I've stated under Levy we are going nowhere. Our strength in depth is shocking the way he conducts his transfers is s joke. We are weaker at the moment than we were last season. My fear that all these so call targets are not coming. For those who think we did not need improving do understand football much. We have a good team but with no pace which is everything in the modern game.

We manage to make a bigger pitch look even more congested.

Need Rose and (if we buy him) Aurier in this team asap. I've never been convinced about Trippier.

You really need to stop posting or in your infamous words take a long look at yourself in the mirror because you very clearly know sweet FA about football.

Anybody who is going to reference that thread again can frankly fuck right off at this point in time, it's obsessive at this point.

It's almost as boring as the same 5-6 people who leave me funny ratings on every post I make, if you aren't going to offer an intelligent well thought out reason as to why you disagree with my opinions beyond pointing out a thread I made after we crashed out of the champions league and that was made in the heat of the moment then you really aren't worth having a discussion with, I bet I could go through posts you have made and pick out plenty of things you have got wrong, but I wouldn't do such a thing because I realise not everyone is perfect, some here seem to think they are.

Also, I will add, that thread about Poch wasn't all inaccurate, especially the part about our formation, feel free to go back and read it, I was wrong about Wanyama and a few other parts but to act like it was all redundant and keep using it as ammo against every opinion I hold is childish.

I know enough about football to know that was a piss poor substitution and game management and that Sissoko should not be coming on in a situation where we are 1-0 up against a team who were always going to push for an equaliser late on.

Please, explain to me, instead of just talking shit towards me, why I am wrong? Why do YOU think it was a good substitute? What did Sissoko offer to us defensively?

Or are you just going to moan about my posts and offer nothing in return?

I’m absolutely fuming – that was so poor, from start to finish.

We were so slow in possession, nowhere near clinical enough. I was streaming the game and had the Liverpool match on in the background, and the pace and unpredictability they have in comparison to us at the moment is extremely worrying.

Walker and Rose played such a huge part in our success over the past two years, and Trippier and Davies were fortunate to ride the crest of the wave when they came in last season, playing well in the process. However, it is safe to say they are nothing more than solid EPL players, and if we want to win the league we need more from the RWB and LWB positions.

Let’s hope Aurier comes in straight away and hits the ground running. We also have to hope that Rose is nearing a return. He went off on a Tuesday night in January, and was labelled a doubt for Saturday – roll on eight months and he’s still not back. Hopefully, he can come back into the fold very quickly, and his outburst is put to bed with a few cracking performances.

Finally, we need to use the next four days very wisely. Foyth, Sessegnon and Sancho are exciting prospects, but we also need to concentrate on players that can improve the team first now.

We need a Mane or a Salah (both signed for just a few million more than Sissoko) – we desperately require a player that can drive with the ball, beat a man, and create that bit of magic to undo a 6/7 man defence (like how Burnley defended today).

Eriksen is a cultured player (bottled a few challenges again today, mind you), and Alli is fantastic, but we need another weapon in the armoury.

I’d like Barkley to sign – as he could become hugely valuable – but I’d also like a pacey wide player. We need a talisman with arrogance and charisma (like Rafa), who lifts the crowd and his teammates too.

Fours days and counting…

I just can't get over how much of that game we spent boringly passing amongst the backline and then one goal up with 3 minutes left we decide it would be *fun* to commit everyone forward

thank god for the brain fuck at Newcastle as we were not winning that one without the red card IMO, we could be sitting here on 2 points after 3 games.....

Everton away next, good we are not at Wembley but don't fancy us there - where has the confidence gone so quickly from this team, they look completely different side to that of scoring 7 at hull 3 months ago, I don't believe it can just be Wembley, but there is something wrong

Maybe the unrest rumours about wages are true????!!! we need someone like JJ to confirm that for us but he has gone deafly quiet too.... think we are going to have a tough season and then an even tougher summer but need to accept that for the next few years, just hope our stadium is ready next year, lots of rumours it wont be and that piss me off given they have not done anything this weekend!

Inexplicable. And that boring pass back nonsense has to stop. Every game it's a competition for who can play the safest.

Today was a game that gotta be won at all cost to break the Wembley curse.. Media will be all armed to hitched on that. Now not only we conceded so late in the game, we have to wait two weeks to make results count..

Really fucking hate international break!!! Fuck those international games!!!!

It's worse than Hitler.
