I firmly believe that Chelsea are addressing their lack of English or home grown players, I don't think it's a coincidence that Oxlade chamberlain and Drinkwater are English, I have no doubt that Barkley's people are aware of that, to be honest it is also why the Ox would do better to choose Liverpool if they really are interested.

Conte said as much today in the press or at least it was in the press today.

Barkley always gives me the impression that he is a fitness fanatic. In the games I have seen him play he is always on the go.

There you go then, told you so, I was at the game so I hadn't seen anything about that, no doubt whatsoever that Barkley won't go with that then.

This question of how long until he recovers will be being used to drive down the price. If there was really any question of him not being fit for most of the autumn and no discount was offered then clearly we'd have walked away by now with the intention of coming back in Jan when the price would be 1/3 of now.

I have no problem with that as we've already waited all summer (which seems to be Everton's fault for holding out for unrealistic money). Just hope they do actually strike a deal by Tuesday

Can only make it happen if he is fit enough and when

Surely we are only gonna find this out at a medical by our doctors. The sooner we can do this the better then we can sign him or move on. Leaving till the last day reduces our options.

What options? Do you think we will move on and buy someone else?

If Barkley is crocked wouldn't Everton have got shot of him? If he is just injured I don't see why we would move on to a second choice option, he's not fit at the moment so lets get someone inferior in?? Sorry I just don't have what it takes to comprehend the logic in that.

My worry about Poch's forward targets is from what I gather from ITK's, none of them have amounted to anything (VJ and Sissoko who I understand Poch wanted both), correct?

I think Balde is the player we need but we have ditched that as he has messed us around waiting for Juve. I still hope that comes back to life on the last day of the window but won't hold my breath

Would be ironic if we signed him and had to wait 3 months, we need players who can play now and honestky would rather get draxler if his heart is set on the prem.

Maybe if we'd of signed him earlier in the window he wouldn't be injured now?

Different training and rehabilitation at different clubs.

Do Everton or Barkley get a say in this ? Everton we have been told by various ITKs were determined not to sell early and wanted to make an example of Barkley but making his sale a last minute deal. Nothing we can do about that except wait or move on to other players.
