I think we're missing a trick with mahrez, he's the perfect player to bring on after 60mins to create or score a goal.

I don't think he wants to come to be a sub, but you have a point - maybe it's as the itk has said and he's just too expensive

Leicester see him as a key player and their fans would see it as suicide to get rid. He is way too expensive for what he offers and - as mentioned above - unlikely to buy into Poch's policy of "you are paid to train and get into the team on merit".
I think this is another factor we overlook in the quest for a "big name" signing: we have proven class in pretty much every position so the "big names" have to be confident they could force their way into the team. Unlike at other clubs where they would be able to guarantee first team status, we cannot do that due to the strength of our team (a bit of a bitch when trying to add strength in depth!)

We're not getting a big name player because we don't pay big name player wages.
So Levi is purposely being a scrooge? Thank God you aren't holding the purse strings as we would be bankrupt already. We are not Man City, Arsenal, Manu, Chelsea or Liverpool where each total income is far greater than ours. You just have to live with it like the rest of us, until we can do better.

Sorry for digressing but these ignorant utterance does piss me off

Mate, you've just agreed with what he posted. What on earth are you criticising him for?

Not having a go, but wish people would link when they want to point others to a specific thread.

Must be honest apart from the three that we expect to come in I can't see any other surprises, any wing forwards or big signing that has been put forward.

Ducks lined up...

Sissoko goes to Inter... who stupidly think he can replace Perisic... who goes to Man U... and Mourinho, who always thinks he knows best, gives up on Martial...

FWIW - always thought Martial has been fanciful but he's been mooted as a very slight possibility

So effectively we swap Sissoko for Martial

Mate, I'm just stating facts, we don't and can't pay the sort of wages other teams do. And that's why we won't get a big name player. It's as simple as that. All those other words are your own interpretation which u have have some how wrongly deduced from what I wrote.

In that case, please accept my sincere apologies. A lot idiots have been going on about Levi being stingy and wont pay the exorbitant transfer fees and wages to get certain players, I mistakenly thought you were one!

Fuck me. This thread has gone down the toilet....

We've had overly positive ITK through yesterday and the names seem to be the same as those we've been discussing for a while now, which links with there being a plan in place. I'm somewhat confident going in to the last days that we'll get these players in. Can't remember a window where ITK from various sources have been so consistent.

Agreed @dk-yid, what worries me is what happens if we don't manage to get Aurier, Barkley etc across the line.

Yet again we run the risk of losing out on targets at the last minute with no time to find alternatives before the window closes.

It's a risky game we really need to stop playing.

I see your point but for the first time in a long time it seems that work has been ongoing well in advance to ensure that doesn't happen... On 1. September we can judge.... And perhaps open a SC suicide hotline if it all goes tits up. :nailbiting:
