This is exactly how I feel. The boys electric. I think he'll be a great signing. My only reservation is that he hasn't got many games for Leicester.

Because he's not actually that good? To say he is in the Townsend mould is not wrong.

Leicester tend to play 442...he is more of a wing forward...he tends to come on when they switch to 4-2-3-1, on the left of the three....he's a square peg at Leicester...unless they change tactics....lack of game time is no reflection on his quality, I agree with you....he fits our system better.

If we'd have got when we were first interested he'd be shit hot by now. Stagnated at L'ster. At this point would prefer someone who's already up and running, ready to come in blazing.

From what I've seen of Gray I've been impressed. He has all the attributes to become a top player. And with Poch being his coach I'm sure he will reach to a very good level. I know it was only a cameo performance but that goal he scored against utd last year and how he played is just what we need on the wings. His very fast and always looking to be a nuisance going forward with his trickery.

Of course it does feel like it would be an underwhelming signing due to the fact that we desperately need a winger who is already accomplished and can be an instant hit ala Keita Balde, Draxler, Di Maria etc. But we do know how much Poch loves to have players that are willing to learn and more importantly play for the team.

I'm all for this signing but hopefully this might be option two and option one player is a marquee type player that can really make a difference. At least we have one more day to find out.

If we spend £22m on Demarai Gray (we won't) as our key attacking signing, I think I'll cry.

I've always prized myself on my ability to turn a phrase. Words are, in my not so humble opinion, our most inexhaustible source of magic. Capable of both inflicting injury, and remedying it. But I would, in this case, amend my original statement to this:

"If we spend £30m on Demarai Gray (ffs we are) as our key attacking signing, I think I'll cry for the rest of eternity".

Doesn't matter what shit-house player we're linked with, you'll somehow get some fans come out of nowhere to state that they rate him. If we were linked with Cattermole, some posters would somehow convince themselves that it wouldn't be that bad a deal.

I thought he wanted out because he wasn't getting enough playing time?

IIRC we were linked heavily to him when he was at Birmingham and he was apparently deemed "Not good enough", I am struggling to understand how he will be good enough now.

I have only seen him play a handful of times and I have not really been impressed.

Agree with this. The fact that the manager(s) at Leicester don't feel he suits their 'industrial' style doesn't mean he can't do very well for us. Remember, Leicester had the world's best striker on loan in 2013 and only used him as a bench-warmer - then he came back to us and hasn't stopped scoring since!

He's lively but has a huge question mark over his end product. Even in his finest YouTube moments, he looks to have the horn for a cul-de-sac. I think I would prefer Origi...

Lol at that Kane comparison. What's that got to do with this? different Leicester, playing in the championship, younger Kane.

I disagree about him not fitting at Leicester. He looks to benefit from open spaces as he is very fast. He struggles in tight spaces. How can someone think he would suit us better than them??
