But that doesn't mean we haven't been working on it for 3/4 weeks.

I have no clue who the player is. I honestly don't think it's going to be the player or players that are causing the jizz fountain (thanks @talkshowhost86 for that wonderful expression earlier) but I am cautiously optimistic that we'll have a bit more depth to our squad come tomorrow.

On that sad note its time for bed to dream of what could have been:depressed:

Despite my serious doubts, I'm starting to think this 20+ pages of constant Martins talk might have been moaned about and made to stop by a mod now, if it wasn't him....
I reckon they are just getting there revenge on everyone's constant spamming on here. Letting us suffer by dreaming of martins lol.

Why the Gelson Martins talk?
Does this come from"Jehovah", and if so, why?
It was basically a lucky guess on a very tenuous link to the cryptic that was then possibly corroborated by Breezer, Grey Fox, and Gards rating posts/tweets.

Not the only, but a big snag in any possible deal with Sporting would be if, no matter what the fee, they feel they can let him go with almost no time to get a replacement in. Would they have someone ready to step in? Does Sporting need the cash?

Does anyone know enough about Portuguese football to be able to addtrss this?

Sporting have done a LOT of business this summer.

They signed a winger called Acuña who has already recorded a few assists and in attack now have our old favourite Doumbia to support Bas Dost and a few others. Also, Iuri Medeiros was going to be sold but it seems Jorge Jesus now fancies him (he's a winger who is highly rated).

Funnily enough, they also have an even younger forward - also called Gelson - who is meant to be on the verge of their first team, too.

In a sense, they could cope without him. Especially in Liga NOS.

FWIW, a journalist pal (Benfica fan) says he's 'not as special as everyone thinks he is' but he would say that, Sporting look better than Benfica this year and he hates it!

Again, my post was a wild stab in the dark based on a hunch, a loose connection with the cryptic and a genuine love of this player.

Hope it was correct as he would transform our attack totally.

He would be extremely expensive, mind.

COYS!

There's a very easy way of identifying our new mystery player.

Just look for the latest 'Welcome to Liverpool' videos.

Just because Gomes hasn't been a success at Barca, doesn't mean he won't be a success here.

Just look at Paulinho.
