Wouldn't surprise me if this creeps over the line. He has clearly set his heart on moving to us. If he's faking illness to get out of training with them then its time to do the deal and cut your losses.

From a Goal.com journo, who covers Man City...

Sam Lee‏Verified account@Sammy_Goal 2h2 hours ago Sancho's saying he's ill and has been in London. Doesn't sound great from him but he's only a kid. Presumably getting some bad advice.

He also said: He rejected the contract (wanted more money) and was talking with other clubs, so they left him off the tour

let the kid leave, thats the resolution! ha
I may be wrong but if it went past deadline day and city decided to cancel his scholarship. He could join us as he would be a free agent. City would still get compensation I would think but it still one way round it if t drags on

Regardless of attitude this is a 17yr old kid with no pro contract who left London at 15 and wants to go back as he is homesick and City are playing hardball. City are not coming out of this looking particularly good.

We stomped up 5-6 mill rising to around 10 mill to sign Bale in 2007. Yes, he had a bit more experience having played a bit in the championship but I bet Sancho would've had playing time at a Championship club too by now.

10 years later we cannot offer something similar to acquire a player who looks just a big a talent? Don't let this kid slip, Daniel!

- what's funny lilbaz? No one knew what was going on at the time I wrote that. We still don't know how much we offered city. So please explain the funny rating?

Hang on, couldn't Dortmund sign him for no fee, just "compensation"? As the rule preventing him from switching clubs without City's permission is an FA thing?

We signed Zeki Fryers just a year after he left United for Liege. Ferguson claimed we did this to avoid paying a compesation to them by letting him go to Belgium

man that sucks but makes sense from shitty's perspective. Plus if the 8 figure sum is true, then not surprised Levy backed down

And on the 26th, Ali Z wrote:

For what it's worth i expect Aurier, Foyth to be done, sancho all down to city don't be surprised to see a "fryers", barkley looking like going to wire, no idea on anything else.

The plot thickens...

Problem is you dont use a club the size of Dortmund for ways round potential issues. Thats why Liege worked out so well, Dortmund would be effectively doing this for nothing which makes zero sense, Liege got themselves a few quid for Fryers, the money here is a drop in the ocean to Dortmund.
