We've needed a plan b type player like this for ages, personally. Trippier crossing ability and Llorente's aerial threat could be a beautiful combination.

I'm not convinced on this. Surely less mobile than Janssen, and OLD.

I get the appeal in a PL loan for Janssen (I don't want to give up on him yet), but is Llorente really a better option?

I'd actually love Llorente. Was always a go to on the old FM and FIFA games for me. Scored plenty for Swansea last season. Decent plan B at end of games if needee to launch balls into the box.

Makes me think the Benteke ITK may have been on the ball. Scored the same number as Llorente last year and a lot younger. Guessing he was a lot more expensive

I can't imagine there isn't a better option that couldn't have been identified in the last few months.

As others have said, as long as we get that pace in too, I'd be happy.

he was fantastic last season, and scored a great range of goals, not just headers. he's hardly less mobile than Janssen as well. He's as fit as anyone could be so he can play the way he does for another 5 years or so

Wow, we are trying to buy a 32 year old target man when we don't play wingers. This is really surprising. Rate the player but it would have been nice to get a forward who was good with the ball at his feet rather then the Spanish Crouch.

This makes a butt load of sense if we're doing a prem loan for Janssen. He needs to play regularly at this level to get better.

Llorente would be an experienced, short term option to allow VJ to gain experience and then next summer he comes back and Llorente probably moves on.

Surely at Chelsea he'd be behind Morata and Batshuayi? Why would he go there?

I am really not sure about Llorente, I am mixed. However, scoring 15 goals for Swansea last season is impressive.

Unfortunately, I can see him choosing Chelsea due to him previously working with Conte. Time will tell I guess.

He was a monster in Bielsa's Bilbao team. Was no quicker then, either. If we add a pace option around him then it's a very good signing.

We need a back up striker who can come off the bench with 20 minutes to go if we need a goal

He needs to have PL experience for it to be less of a risk

Llorente for that reason is a very good option

Problem is it makes no sense why he wouldnt want to go chelsea so this will be another public rejection and will sign for chelsea

He will increase our average squad age by about 5 years. Its an odd choice imo and out of line with our usual targets i.e. because he's 30+. Clearly Poch feels he can offer us something so happy to trust him on this one. He's not a bad signing at the right price.

Chelsea will surely match our bid and ultimately boil down to personal terms.

Suggests big Vince is on his way out if this comes to fruition.

We might not play conventional wingers but if you think about it a lot of our goals come from crosses I.e quite a few of deles and in addition we have trippier/auriers crossing
