I'm assuming a lot here but being deadline day i'm sure there's an element of getting all aspects of the deal done in a variety of different ways/orders. We know what his current wage is and maybe increasing that isn't a big consideration for the player - maybe he just wants a bigger club/chance to play CL.

Is this guy stood in the room with him while he is having a medical? We have been here before with Willian, I think the press are just drumming up bullshit for a story at this point, make deadline day seem more dramatic.
