Read a Barca scouting report.Sounds very much like he was a bit overwhelmed by the whole Barca thing,which is understandable.People say he's slow ,but his scouting video he goes past players quite easy.Tbh I'm totally confused what he is.But one thing for sure he can ping a pass.With 3 at back ,I wouldn't mind a xavi alonso type in front rather than a wanyama.Our defence is now so strong do we really need a wanyama DM unless it's against the top clubs.For me he's very interesting ,and maybe just needs to find his best position.Lets be honest a year ago he was deemed good enough for barcas midfield.

He doesn't even necessarily need to take up the No. 10 position to serve as cover for Eriksen anyway. Eriksen often drops deep to orchestrate play and set the tempo, release the wingbacks etc. Gomes can provide the same things and also has the vision and technique to play throughballs. So he can provide a lot of what Eriksen gives us even if from a deeper position.

Asked my two Barca supporting friends (these guys are fanatics, by the way, watch nearly every game and have detailed arguments on all the players) and received this in response. My message was "Spurs are getting Andre Gomes, tell me about him?"

That's absolutely spot on. At least from his time at Barcelona.
Maybe they are a fit for Paulinho and Gomes is for us. But he's been as bad for them as Paulinho was for us

They go on to say that he does have good technical ability and vision but makes boneheaded passes multiple times a game. He 'has the shittiest movement of any midfielder in La Liga, he runs like he's been f'd up the ass during halftime' and would not have a good time adjusting to the pace and physicality of the Premier League. Guys, I'm sure he has ability but this is striking me as quite questionable.
He played something like two games as a right back though... and personally I don't think he was more than ok there. His best games, by far I'd say, was in the Busquets role.
But his confidence was shot to pieces quite early. Let's hope he gets a good start, IF he is to come to Spurs. There is a real player in there somewhere, but I can see him being a real flop if he's as unsuited for the Premiership as I fear...

Wi the way we have inteligently gone about our transfer business this window,I cant see abaldy not havin any cinditions that would suit Barca too favorably by allowing another club to bid and have him after having a successful season with us.
As someone else above alluded too, the bug clubs like PSG and Barca may be willin to give concessions and sell players to us as a sweetener cause they will definitely be eyeing some of our currect players (Ericsson-> Barca) etc..
I really don't trust football fans judgement alone. Especially at the spoilt clubs. Christ, VDV ame here with all sorts of baggage. Similarly, Modric, Bale and all sorts of stars get stick over there for nothing. Absolutely nothing wrong, they just expect far too much.
This is what I didn't get. Thought he was playing tonight. Very odd
