A pretty good window, but just short of great IMO. The fact we didn't shift Sissoko upsets me the most, he is shocking. Given that, I hope GKN gets chances when fit in front of him to provide the pace we are all hoping for in the absence of the muted wide forward. Gomes would have given us a great option to add some passing creativity which we're missing at times, which is also a shame.

Barkley...meh..never been that excited by that one - although he will be well regarded by me if he was trolling Chelsea on purpose

On the plus side Sanchez is potentially an outstanding player and Aurier might actually improve on Walker, whilst Llorente add to options up front and is proven in the CL.

Pretty happy, but not quite elated.

only my guess - but i think personal terms have been agreed with us for a while. i'd even guess a medical has already been done. sticking point was fee with everton. as soon as it looked like Chelsea were serious, the wee bald man matches their bid, Ross gets wind of it, and bolts back to us.

optomistic, but you just never know.

BBC 5 Live tweeted at 8.19 that they heard Barkley rejected the move.
If that's the case, we've had 2 hours already to work on getting the deal done.

Levy has all the leverage on negotiating the fee. If they don't accept what we offer now they'll have to sell at a discount in January anyway. We're not going to pay a full transfer fee and 1.5-2m in wages when he won't be available until close to the January window anyway. If this doesn't happen it will be shades of Berahino, Everton's pride getting in the way of business.

Pleat on 5 Live just said Janssen might go on loan.

In non-transfer news, he also said that Lamela is doing some training again.

And that after John Hartson failed a medical at us, we advised him and his agent not to make it public. They did, and he promptly went and failed a medical at Rangers, before signing for Celtic.

I'm just gonna pretend that we offered Ross an extra 100k signing bonus if he fucked with Chelsea until the last possible moment because the idea makes me very happy.
