With Vert and Alderweireld pushing 30, I would not be surprised to see Foyth and Sanchez as our main centre-backs in a couple of years, if not sooner.

CB's get better with age so I wouldn't write those two off just yet.

Look at Italian defenders, master of the arts. Great to have these guys on board but I could see Jan in particular playing on until at least 34/35 with aplomb.

What is exciting is to have the overlap of experience and young talent. To add the usual cliché, the future is bright! Very excited by the defensive depth we have.

Same could be said for Kane - Llorente. If Kane was a car he'd still be on a service plan.

I think Foyth will be developed in the 'Dier' role and that if we get a huge bid for Dier, and he wants to go, we won't stand in his way. It's a good contingency to have and we may have already given Dier some assurances.

Why does Dier want to go? Disappointed if true but equally he's not impressed me for quite a while to be honest. Hasn't seemed near to the quality he has been before for some reason.

Dier will be fine soon
We have a truly fantastic set up in defence now-inevitable when you have Poch.
Foyth is a truly exceptional talent who we wouldn't have got within a sniff without Poch
In fact Pochettino has really become our ace trump card for getting fantastic young talent, and in Llorrents case, old as well

I think the same was said of his slow start last season.
And he apparently called Walker a traitor on England duty - doesn't sound like someone looking for an out.

It's not a case of writing them off. Rather, as with Walker, if some club offers silly money, Levy will be willing to offload if there are ready made replacements at hand. This is especially so with Alderweireld, who still hasn't sign a contract extension.

And Walker's reply was along the lines of 'It was OK when you wanted to go to Utd.' ITK has said that 2 or 3 of our players got tapped up, for want of a better phrase, by other players on England duty.

It's great that he's a highly rated youngster but let's not get carried away. There are lots of kids with talent for every one who makes it. I'm sure when Kane was in the youth ranks there were half a dozen kids thought roughly as good but we don't hear of them now. If we can manage him, get him enough games without exposing him too early that's his best chance.
