Will still need Rose back make no mistake, doesn't matter if Davies is playing well Rose tearing up and down that wing will cause any team problems.

Tbh as much as I love Davies and Trippier and I really do enjoy watching them both play I think at Wembley we will need Rose or Sessengon if we sign him and Aurier at full back. For some reason our lack of peace gets exposed really badly at Wembley and maybe it would be a help to have those two in at full back.

In general though I want Rose gone and replaced ASAP.

On a different subject altogether guy in ASDA shopping in front of me as I wrote all that farted and followed through so guess we could all be having worse days :)
Sessegnon is never a long term full back, in my opinion. Think he'd get destroyed defensively in the Premier League. His career trajectory will mirror Bale's.

Rose hasn't been out much less time than Lamela at this point, ans it's a knee issue. He's going to have to put a serious shift in to get his place back

I can't stand historical revisionism. Yes, Davies is playing well, yes we did well in the second half of the season last year without Rose, and yes he said some things that pissed a lot of people off. But make no mistake, if he comes back to the level he was before this injury, there should be no debate about his place in the starting lineup - an in-form Danny Rose is on a different planet to Davies.

Same was said about Rose who was a left winger tbf...Poch can turn Sessegnon into a very good LB if he wants to.

Yeah, but Rose was an incredibly mediocre winger. Sessegnon shows a lot of promise as an attacking player.

I think there's definitely some of this going on but it's also clear Davies has stepped up a level this season. I'd still say Rose on top form is the better player but 1) Davies has certainly got a little closer and 2) there's no guarantee that Danny comes back the same player.

Really, it's a nice position to be in, if Rose can knock Davies out of the team then we'll have the best left back in the league. Happy days

i can't see any revisionism but obviously some have more of an issue with what he did than others.

When both are on form, Rose is definitely the better player and more importantly, he suits our system better ( especially at Wembley )

I'm not sure the gap between the two is as huge as you're making out though, certainly not when it comes to them simply as footballers ( systems, formations etc taken away )

There is no guarantee that Rose will come back the same player as what we saw last season. A long term injury can have a serious impact on ones level.

Davies was very good the other day, he is much younger than Rose and is currently deserving of a first team spot. He also appears to be growing as a player and the best of him may be still to come. He has created more chances than any other player in the Tottenham team and is joint 3rd chance creater in the whole division behind only Mkhitaryan and Ozil.

To replace Davies for Rose as soon as Rose is fit again would be unfair and go against any sense of fairness. Davies at the moment deserves his place, when Rose gets back it up to him to dislodge him, by showing the Poch his worth in both training and in first team. There is no question that Rose is the more talented player but I don't expect him to waltz back into the side. He has to prove himself before that.

Rose is a great player, will be great to have him back. But since Rose last played, Davies has improved immensely. They're not so far apart now. Great for the team. Headache for Poch.

I wouldn't rule out Rose coming straight back into the side in the same way Vertonghen came straight back in when Wimmer had excelled in his absence. I thought that was a bit harsh, but Poch has shown himself to be ruthless if he feels it's for the good of the team

A lot depends on the relationship between Poch and Rose following 'that' interview

The only issue I can forsee, is DR being booed and the effect that can have on the whole team.

Could make him unpickable for Poch.

So is there any genuine Spurs fan who goes to our games who would actually boo Rose? If so on what basis?
Personally have never booed anyone from Armstrong to Vega but there will be a lot purely based on what the fans have said about him since his foray into the print media...

Have you not seen/read/heard the hate Rose has received?

Do you not think that may manifest in some booing against him if/when he puts on a Spurs shirt again?

People talking about Sessegnon, is he even still a left back? Whenever I've seen him play he seems to be playing left wing.

When we play 3 at the back, our wingbacks are effectively wingers anyway so that wouldn't matter. Besides, Sessegnon started as a fullback and has ended up playing like a winger, Rose started as a winger and ended up playing as a fullback.

For what it's worth, while I'd love us to sign Sessegnon, he's still years away from being good enough for our first 11. People keep talking about it like he'd come straight in and be Rose 2.0 but more than likely he'd spend at least a season in our youth teams first.
