The first was during the first half where I saw punches thrown down in front of me in block 135. It was to do with people standing up in front of people sitting down.

That was a few rows in front of me. A bunch of people were standing and didn't sit down when told to by the stewards (as literally everyone on the other side of the steps was standing and not being told to sit) or being called ****s by the people behind them. Eventually what looked like the senior steward team came along and decided the best course of action was to assault them. The head steward in particular looked like he was on something the way his eyeballs were popping out with relish squaring up to people.

Then just before half time one of the sanctimonious 'sit down you ****s' brigade threw one of the guys who'd been standing down the stairs. It was amusing watching this happen to West Ham last season. Embarrassing that it's going on now, even more so that the club had a clear warning of what could happen yet they couldn't give a flying fuck about it.

He's started the season with a slightly bizarre dichotomy. We're getting a lot of tactical fluidity/experimentation (which I don't mind) - risk taking on one hand, but on the other a lot of risk averse stuff - the Dier/Wanyama/Dembele midfield vs. Chelsea, rushing players back from injury, to the detriment of the team on the day, almost zero trust in youth so far this season... Overall it's been very hit and miss.
Which makes me think that it might be a hit and miss season we could easily finish 7th or 8th, or just as likely scramble 4th spot even this early we look somewhat inconsistent.

Our problem against sides who park the bus is we're so slow in possession. The passes need to be hit with more pace, there has to be more movement to draw opposing players away from their positions and make them run and tire. We didn't do that at all in the first half, Swansea had such an easy time in that first half. That's irrespective of our lineup and formation. We looked better in the second half and upped the tempo a bit more but we should do that from the kickoff.

We look good against sides that don't park the bus but we're clueless against sides that do.

This is the main issue. People can say we need a direct pace player, but the ball can always move quicker than the man.

Too many of our players, especially when the ball is in the middle of the park, are uneasy with playing at up-tempo one/two touch. The passing needs to speed up, but that is only half of it as you need players on the move - which yesterday really didn't happen for the most part.

Agree with alot of comments most has been said.Such a frustrating game to watch. Fact is ther really is no plan b when teams do this to us. I personally thought Son was most lively player on at the time. Then got took off seemed go more flat. Catch22 in a perfect world is after the Dortmund game is we rest at very least 1-2 of our attacking players however as we know the Bench so limited attacking choices.

Apart Llorente. Who my opinion should come on for Ali who wasnt having his best game. In ideal world Kane & Ali get rested after midweek game and Llorent & Son come on instead yeah ok thats probally not perfect either.what other options do we have.. Don't know what answer is and whats funny is Jansen wasnt great but least was attacking option. Just gets to point where we all know starting 11 is amazing on there day and then look to bench. Seems like where always talking about not having enough strikers..every season ha when will it end :)

To me part of the problem lies with Dier not wanting to play in defence and problem that brings to us being flexible.
Last season he would have been part of the back 3 with 2 wingbacks allowing us to switch to flat back 4 in game time with wing backs still pushing on and Eric sitting as dm
This season the extra defender on the pitch and with him as a dm makes us more negative - which we cannot afford to be against teams like Swansea.

Wembley yesterday was turgid - so slow and predictable. Atmosphere continues to be a problem and there is a small pocket around us who make a noise but too many who don't.
Yes we should have had at least one penalty but honestly don't believe we did enough, given amount of possession, to warrant more.

If we don't get an early goal against these type of teams then we struggle to open them up..

We lack a direct player like Mane, Sane or Martial who can pick up the ball and get past and beyond the defensive line.

The trouble is the way Swansea played yesterday once you're beyond the defensive line you're off the pitch.

The way Dortmund did the other night.

Llorente should have been brought on a lot earlier and used effectively, win the ball in the box and voila. Poch undone by his lack of pragmitsm, Ferguson, Morinho would have smelt the coffee and acted.

It is pace that needed against these teams not a long ball hoofed towards Llorente.

Tend to think putting Son at LB didn't work, just as it didn't against Chelski in the semi.

Thought Eriksen's balls into the box lacked quality & generally the team seemed hesitant in the attacking 3rd, with even Kane snatching at shots towards the end.

Kane hardly got the ball at all did he. We just couldn't get it to him.

We also needed dembele, he's the only player we have that breaks through lines with his power and dribbling. Why he didn't play at all was baffling. Sure he's useless near the goal but he gets it to eriksen and Kane after breaking through a midfield thats defending deep. Without him doing that against defensive teams we are in trouble and the result was yesterday,

What I wouldn't give for a nice early goal in these type of fixtures
If we start quick enough then we stand a better chance of winning as then the opposition have to come out to get something from a game, but as yesterday showed the longer it went on the more comfortable they became as we got more desperate and inept.

I don't understand how this myth is so constantly spouted. Liverpool have the quickest attack in the league, and who do they struggle against? Teams that park the bus. Pace is useful against teams that actually venture outside their own half.

What you need against bus-parkers is intelligent moving and quicker passing to drag defenders out of position, and create openings for other runners.

Do you know why teams park the bus against better teams? Because it effective, most teams struggle with it. If it was so easy to play against then teams wouldn't do it

Liverpool have to paciest attack in the league and can't break down teams that park the bus( i.e Burnley yesterday)

Yes poch maybe could've done things differently but it's so easy to point out in hindsight and we did enough to win the game anyway

The main reason they struggle mate is because they have a shit defence they are always likely to give goals away and usually do.
Where as city on the other hand have tightened up and bought intelligent players like bernado Silva in, at the moment they are sweeping everyone aside we at the moment look not sharp enough and dare I say it but not organised enough.

The draws are what usually fucks us. We've had 2 of them were we should really have won so far. It happens every season

Poor selection, poor set up and poor in game adjustments. Why Winks didn't start, let alone come on, I cannot get my head around. We don't need Dier vs these piss ant teams that come with no intention of doing anything other than setting up shop to frustrate, playing him plays right into their hands. If we go a goal or 2 up, or we are getting dominated in the middle then by all means bring him on to shore things up but starting that way is so risk averse

Please let's end the Trippier is a first choice RB nonsense, Aurier is on a different level defensively and going forward. Give Trippier cup fodder and the odd league game here and there but resting Aurier and Davies for that matter was baffling 4 games into the season

Dembele's body is creaking badly-that's the only conclusion to be drawn.

It really does show a complete lack of understanding of the basics of football.
