I think this is where my frustration comes in. I can live with the lineup even if I disagree but the bench... 3 of the players in Davies, Dembele, and Winks were some combination or not fully fit, not match sharp, or recovering from an injury and were probably never going to feature or be brought on to close out the game. Foyth is another on the bench who would probably never play so really our bench was Llorente and Aurierx both who featured. It was truly baffling that we didn't have a KWP or TOB or AG or Edwards or any of these highly thought of prospects who could have made a difference. I just really and truly do not get it.
Don't think injuries to rose and lamela don't help both been out for over a year in lamelas case and 9 months for rose, what is going on with these two and no expected return date in sight.

Poch Needs to take a long hard look at himself this morning! !!

Nah I kid!

I'm not terribly upset. We were Liverpooled, and thru have all that pace and intensity and still fack these home games up .

It was so difficult, crap teams often are defensive against us but that was seriously negative from Swansea .

It was always a straight line of 5 at the back with 3 defensive midfielders just ahead and one of the two 'forwards' also behind the ball.

And with our huge effort in Wednesday we just lacked the energy to batter them for 90 minutes

Plus we were unlucky, Kane could've easily of scored and we had a clear pen denied
Think we have to stop making excuses like too much effort in the previous game etc, if we want to be part of the successful big club brigade then you manage to find ways of winning.

Well we don't have a squad like the Manchester clubs. That's just the way it is.
It's more comparable to Liverpool

Your right our squad doesn't compare to those clubs but not winning a home league match until at least the end of September suggests we have issues that need addressing very quickly.

...Hugo is to distribution.

I love the guy- and there's NO ONE I'd rather have as manager- but fuck me if he isn't one of the worst in-game coaches I've ever seen. It's almost as if I would rather he did everything he does for our team- and I mean everything- but then, as soon as we emerge from the tunnel on match day, some random SC'er would take the reigns for the 90. Even his occasionally head-scratching lineups don't bother me- it's his substitutions and tactics (or lack thereof). When the game is crying out for something he often does the opposite; high line vs. a lower-level squad- to close out a 1-0 game- particularly after our RB got torched repeatedly? No Winks? Wtf?

Look, this is not an anti-Poch thread; we are lucky to have the guy. I love him. But Holy Jesus this has got to stop...I swear some on here know more IN GAME than him- and I actually mean that. Yes there are things we don't know- injuries, internal politics, moods, disputes, etc.- but sorry, some of the moves he pulls (or doesn't pull) are just mystifying. It's like Ledley's knees, Hugo's passes, Harry's gob...whenever someone does well for us they always have some fatal flaw...

I'm so fucking down about today I feel literally physically sick. Thanks for being here people- at least I know I'm not alone.
embarrassing thread

We all knew Wembley was gonna be tricky but I feel there's a bit of an over reaction at the moment.

Played 6 lost 1 so far.
We'll turn the draws into wins I'm sure

I think after scorong the most last seaosn teams are playing even more defensively against us.

City will deal with this really well as the passing, pace and movement of Aguero, Jesus and De Bruyne is so difficult to deal with.

We are a bit more pedestrian in our movement and rely on Kane and Alli's strength and determination with Eriksen providing the passes to get goals.

It's a challenge Poch needs to face up to.

In the league at Wembley we have drawn to Burnley and Swansea and lost to Chelsea.

No team in the league would be happy with those home results.

I'm not sure about that mate as we had too many draws last year especially from start of Oct to end of Nov when we scrapped a win against West ham when we hadn't won a game in weeks.
Plus some of these draws could well turn into defeats making it even worse to come, our Wembley record actually stinks the place out but meanwhile the club has to sit and look at themselves because our away form can't keep bailing us out.
The next game is against West ham and we are bound to lose it seeing as they will be more up for it than our boys will.

I don't remember a Spurs manager that's not been criticised for tactics or in game management. It's something that they're usually called up for whenever we drop points but rarely praised for when we win matches.

Yesterday I would have to agree that Poch had a mare. Son at LWB. Trippier at LWB. Bringing on a plan B "big man up top" option in Llorente but not having the team actually try and cross it into him. Leaving Winks on the bench. Naming Sissoko in the match day squad let alone in the starting XI. It was a terrible day in the office. But the fact is, we win more often than we don't under Poch, and he has won plenty of big games against talented managers. You don't need to radically change the formation and put a player in an unheard of position to make a sensible tactical switch - half the time he does it you probably don't bat an eyelid and praise the players for the win when it comes.

It utterly amazes me that just three days after we followed up a 3-0 away win at Everton with a 3-1 win in the Champions League against Borussia Dortmund at a ground that people said we couldn't win at, then people are questioning our manager.

Amazeballs we're still 5th :woot:
Let's see where we are after the weekend a win could see us move into the top 3 maybe, or just as likely another defeat to these pie and mash munchers, or yet another draw now that would be unusual :)
