Perfect but Gkn if fit,sissoko can't play on the left.Georgiou might get a look in.

I think you are probably right and the rotation vs. Swansea was with that in mind. I personally don't care as much about the cups and think the never winning a title is a narrative the media have sold us as a way to make us feel like we're never good enough. Still think Edwards should be involved but bet he captains the youth side tomorrow and we're all on here complaining about it.

Cos he decided to go weak vs Swansea and save players for this Mickey Mouse cup. I will be even more annoyed if I see davies or dembele starting this one.

Mourinho at Chelsea, Mancini at City, Pellegrino(!) at City would all disagree with you as they all won the League Cup before they won the League. Mourinho won it at ManU last season. What price them winning the league this season? You have to start somewhere to instill a winning mentality and winning the League Cup is the easiest (and earliest in the season) to win.

All very expensively-assembled squads with coaches who used rotation when the opportunity arose. The 1st round of the League Cup at home to Barnsley is the time to rotate the squad and give fringe and young players some game time, and rest some first-teamers for a long season ahead. It's just about priorities imo.

Poch's rotation of the players is awful. always gets it wrong so I fully expect to see Davies, Dembele and probably dier play. I doubt Edwards will start

Mauricio won't though.
Doesn't seem to trust the yoot any more.
and after a slow start and Saturdays funeral parade
will want to re-estabish our credentials.
That team might have stood a better chance against Swansea.

Some of the teams posted have cup upset written all over it. Considering how badly we've performed against teams that park the bus I think a full rotation could be really dumb.

Yes it's the least important competition we are in this season but it's a trophy. Personally I think we need to ensure progression in early rounds with relatively strong selection and then go all out for it. Get that first trophy under Poch regime wrapped up by February.

League cup win isn't necessarily going to be a springboard to win the league but you have to start somewhere. We are not a "winning" football club. No matter how poor Man Utd are they always seem to get a trophy. If it continues as it has the last two years, as great as we've been in ten years we'll look back and think all that and we won fuck all. We need to start getting trophies, with Wembley a cup and 4th and I'd say it's been a good season.
