Not sure it was done towards the fans as such, unless he was moody that "We've got Alli" wasn't being sung throughout.

To be fair I was just posting what the bbc london commentator just said at the end of the broadcast "Alli clapped his ears at the fans"

Have no idea how it was done that's why I put it in here to see if it was indeed at the fans?

Why would it be towards the fans? If anything it'd be towards the media, surely. All this talk about agents and him being a money grabber etc.

Heard the same commentary and they took it in a "where's the support" way.

I'd like to see him play a bit deeper tonight and in general.

Think he's a good poacher but playing as a virtual striker is limiting for him, always had 2 huge CBs kicking and pressing him as soon as he receives.

Playing as a proper midfielder could bare more fruit. Perhaps his goal return will be lessened but his all round output will increase

He's good player but because his off the ball movement he looks like world class. No midfield role for Dele, please.

Goal against Barnsley was what he does best. Always in the right place at the right time

When he first broke into our team in the 15/16 season, he played alongside Dier in a 4-2-3-1, since Dembele was injured. Played a hell of game as a DM when we beat Man City 4-1.
When Dembele came back, Dembele tended to start as a 10, with Alli starting as a 6 with Dier.
Then there was a couple of games where we started that way, but had the two change positions during the game, most likely since Alli started the games by being too sloppy in possession.

But these days, he's basically a striker. I wouldn't trust him to be able to play a disiplined CM role anymore like he could do when he first arrived.

3 goals in 6 appearances and he's out of form and needs benching?
I don't think he needs benching per se, I just think that having him as an impact off the bench against while giving Son a run at them would be good for both players and mean a bit of variation. Imagine Dembele bullying them high up the pitch for 60mins, then Dele replacing him to put them on the back foot for the last 30 regardless of the score.

If Ali was getting to big for his boots he probably wdnt be playing midweek round 1 against Barnsley.

Would be dreadful business for him not to be looking to maximise his earnings. It's what every talented young player does. Fans act like every Spurs player should be happy playing for us no matter what they earn a week. If him getting a new agent is to try and begin work on moving on its one thing but if it's simply for commercial and contract negotiating it's just natural.

Whats he actually done? Don't really understand this change in tone regarding him. He's started slowly, just as we have. He started slowly last season too then gradually built rhythm and ended up having a sensational season. You don't drop someone as dangerous as Dele, you ride out the quiet games (even though he's already got 3 goals) because you know he'll be on fire soon. He's a constant goal treat and one you always fancy to score.

Feel like this new agent thing and a bit of the old body language bollocks have set the wheels in motion with fans - he doesn't do enough, if he's not scoring what does he do, he's too big for his boots, he wants out, he's a bad egg, he's replaceable. It's really weird.

The only thing of note on this dele thing is that some of our supporters seem to want to drive our best players from the club with the stick he has had to take lately i would not blame him if he said "sod it and up yours i'm off"
i just hope harry or erricsen don't go thru a bad patch otherwise these saint's that say they support spurs will be trying to drive them out also .
These same people that alway's critisise the players have obviously never put a foot wrong in life especially when they were young

He can't kick or control a football, according to some of the experts on here.

It's ever been thus. Most match threads since he joined are littered with 'what does he do', 'can't control a ball', 'stop trying flicks', 'get him off'... 'FUCKING WHAT A GOAL GET IN DELE YOU FARKING LEGEND'

There are many examples, in all sports, where you are left scratching your head and then amazed when that player pops up and saves the day.

Alli has qualities that you just can't teach. He has the desire to win the battles and he has a natural ability to find the ball at the right time and right place.

He will only get better. I do remember being most impressed with him when he was playing deeper, in terms of full time involvement, but you can't pull him away from his partnership with Kane cause 15+ goals a season is something you just can't forfeit. Playing up the pitch also allows him to do his little flicks without putting the team under immense pressure. If he played deeper like he did when he first arrived, he would have to simplify his game a lot and I personally think we lose a lot of what he is good at, which is box play.

The guy hasn't long been 21 years old and he is still scoring at a goal every other game! He would get into every team in the premier league and most in the world. He needs to work on some things of course but then he isn't the finished article by any means!

A lot of our fans want to see young players from the academy fast tracked into the side but then criticise young players when they go through a bad patch or are not the finished article.

Dele sense of goals and his movement are absolutely magic, the way he drifts into positions without being picked up looks easy but it's one of the most difficult things to do, finding space against top level defenders is incredibly difficult and young Dele does it with ease in the penalty box to score, what look, simple goals.

If he can improve his all round play then he has the potential to be the best and most productive attacking midfielder England has seen in a long long time.
