When you think Bennetts is 18.5 yrs.Wouldnt exactly call it fast track.Davies I think was 18 making debut in EPL.Woodburn is still 17 I think.Bennetts hasn't even been on bench yet.Tob defo seems to be the fast track guy.Poch must really really rate him to be involved at 17.When likes of Edwards aren't even getting a sniff.
They're all different cases. Different positions, different sizes and body shapes. And Edwards basically missed a whole season of development last year.

figured I'd try to give an update on someone we don't see mentioned in here often, Anton Walkes. I live in Atlanta, GA and try to watch when I can and tbf they are p damn good (for the MLS) and we just set the MLS attendance record in our first season at over 70k. While he has also played as a CDM he seems to have settled into the starting RB position. It's a v advanced RB position tho v similar system to that of Poch's original 4-2-3-1 RB (Walker) role. He has pace and size. I know it's the MLS but the kid is getting v valuable game time and experience in front of huge crowds looks to be a solid prospect

Good to hear. I don't ever see him playing for the first team. There is nothing he would offer us, but I feel he will now go further than I ever thought he would. It seems he could even make a Championship footballer. Though, if I were him and getting good money I'd stay in Atlanta and make a nice career out there.

He must be living the dream for a young footballer. Playing in front of 70,000 people, I presume getting good money and living in a big metropolitan city.

Makes you wonder why more players don't do it

Georgiou with first squad today ,just him and TOB.Baffling he could be infront of Edwards and even Bennetts imo.

This reminds me of the old, well AVB better judge of character than the people who go to youth matches

I remember when AVB would include Dombaxe and Lamieras in the first team whilst people who seen them play were confused and shocked

Georgiou is better than those two listed and has potential imo, he shouldn't be ahead of some others though

I do fear that unless you're a fullback you have to be a strong player to be in a poch team

That's not how it works. Duncan was training with the first team squad last week for example. We seem to pick 2ish in a session every week or so to give them experience of training with the first team.

also reminds me of last year when walkes was with the first team whilst kwp was still with the u23s and people would say maybe we're wrong about them.

that's true although georgiou and tob are full-time with the first team at the moment, neither of them really merit it based on performances at youth level but they can only benefit from it so i say good luck to them.

Can see why with TOB to be fair. Clearly a big talent and one we all think highly of despite not having the impact we thought he would for the U18s last year. Georgiou however is a weird one. Likely to be one of those scenarios where we eventually loan him out and fans all forget he was ever training with the first team though. Much like your Walkes/KWP example.

Not sure Georgiou is full time first time Ive seen him in a while.TOB is definitely full time.Georgiou is 20.5 yrs so this is probably make or break season for him.Almost impossible not to see him being sold.Maybe just giving him bit of exposure to bump up price.
