Not a polished performance but I'd take any win against these ****s, yes we almost undid our good work but in these emotive matches with bullets flying everywhere it happens. We got the win that eluded us last two seasons, I'm happy.

Lloris was fine, couldn't do anything about the goals.

Aurier was targeting all game and didn't have a good day at the office. Rightly sent off and positioning let him down. I like him but let's be honest, we'd be slaughtering Tripp for the same performance.

Alderweireld was calm and mopped everything up well.

Sanchez had some great moment and some poor. Lucky not to give away a penalty. Pretty strong.

Vertonghen was very good, great use of the ball, key involvement with the second goal, some strong defending under pressure.

Davies was undistirbed defensively, decent in attack and showed some nice skill.

Dier going too deep left too much space between defence and attack, but he made some good challenges and fairly positionally disciplined.

Sissoko was fine, brought the ball forward well, some good ball retention too under pressure but no cutting edge.

Dele was involved in both first half goals, he was always popping up in threatening areas, he fought off the ball, but he also lost the ball sloppily, spurned a few opportunities and overdid it at times. Mixed bag with end product, any chance he's a talented 21 year old?

Eriksen was man of the match, he scored a cool goal, was the maestro in the build up to both the others and showed some great skill and awareness. Criminally underrated.

Kane was Kane, all fight, all heart, two great finishes and was a leader up until he came off. Sums him up that I just expect this from him.

Winks looked the best he has in a while, some nice touches and good fight.

Trippier filled a hole, game was a mess by then.

Llorente did well, some great hold up play, bullied them a bit and took some pressure off our defence.

Mixed views on that game. It's always a hideous match against West ham. Form goes out the window and it nearly always turns into a scrappy, feisty affair. I'm just happy to leave with 3 points. They always up their game for their cup final.

I was disappointed in the officiating.

Kane was excellent, nudges my motm. To the last he was running his arse off. Just before he was subbed, he had 4 west ham players trying to poke the ball of him in the penalty area and he still kept it. His goals were really well taken.

Early days, didn't think Aurier was amazing or dreadful. Let a couple of players get past him into danger a few times. Decent passing vision. Pointless to make the tackle.he did, but was riding his luck considering he could have been booked a few other times imo. I'm sure he'll sort that out, bit of a baptism of fire! But, I personally don't see how he nudges Trippier out the team straight away.

Dele. His cross for Kane was brilliant, perfectly weighted for the header. Bit of an off day in the final 3rd. I'm being polite. Would probably drop for a few games.

The rest played well. (Including sissoko) Davies is going from strength to strength which is lovely to see what can happen when you get an extended run of games.

3 points is 3 points.

Cheeky mention for Llorente who showed some clever gamesmanship at the end.

Edit. How can I forget Eriksen? Massive player for us.

Kane for me followed by Jan the Man. I thought we played well either side of half time. Solid performances from Toby, Dier, Sissoko and Dele. I am really disappointed by Aurier. Poor in patches, looked overawed by the occasion and then tops it with a brainfuck of epic proportions. This was winning ugly big time when we should have walked the last 15 minutes. Very lucky to take all 3 points.

Aurier is the perfect replacement of walker. Almost identical player - including their brainless. Anyway, walker has his IQ improved under poch. I am not worried

Close thing between Kane and Eriksen for MOM, Harry just, just shading it. Two genuinely world-class players.

Dele was nowhere near as bad as some people are making out. Was all over the pitch, doing some very good defensive work, in both central and wide positions especially behind Aurier, holding the ball up cleverly in attacking areas, creating Harry's wonderful headed goal, and generally making a nuisance of himself. He was slow in the box, well below his own usual high standard, but if that's all you take from his performance you're missing a lot.

Jan deserves a mention for some great play. He seems to be enjoying the extra freedom he gets from having Sanchez there. Could he have done better for their 2nd goal? Need to see it again.

I think Sanchez will prove to be a stunning buy. He has areas to improve in, but what a high level to start from. Excellent, exciting prospect.

Aurier. He needs to learn how to use his undeniable talents, and how to balance defence with attack. But to be fair, he's given a lot of license to go forward now we're playing 3 at the back regularly. Not just him but the team still have some adapting to do, because playing with him and Sanchez is different from playing any of the 3 at the back combinations we played last year. I'm not too worried. I think he'll only get better.

3 points away from home again and some glimpses of how much more this fantastic team is capable of when they get into their stride.

Got to disagree with the praise for Sissoko; I thought he was shite.

The pattern I noticed is that he'd regularly do something to make me think he'd improved, something good like winning us the ball - and then almost invariably neutralise it, waste his good work, by running straight into a defender and giving it away again or similar.

Jan 'Should have been MOTM' Vertonghen - 8
Eric 'Another Day in the office' Dier - 6
Moussa 'Poch finally knows how to use me' Sissoko - 7
Christian 'I'll take that ball thank you very much' Eriksen - 7
Dele 'Not as bad as you keep moaning he is' Alli - 6
Harry 'Mother Fucking Baller' Kane - 9

Subs:
Harry 'Ever since that day I was a running' Winks - 7

Thought we were lucky, on another day may have conceded a penalty or 2.
Sissoko, Dier poor. Aurier was a liability from the start.
Again Poch made some poor decisions.
Delighted to come away with 3 points.

What did Sissoko do that made you think he was poor?

that goal saving tackle by aurier made up for his sending off

You mean the one he had to do because he'd already been caught out of position and dived in further up the pitch?

I like what I've seen overall from Aurier so far and I think he'll turn out to be a good signing, but people seem to be going overboard because he does some exciting tackles.

I'd rather he read the game better and didn't have to do those tackles in the first place.

Decent performance that turned into a bit of a headless chicken defensive rearguard.

Standouts were Kane (that miss though from offside )
& Jan was imperious as ever.

& Christian flitted around and did what he does, found pockets to do the damage, great ball to Deli and sweet controlled finish.

the rest:
Dier looked more like a midfielder than he has for a while not just hot potatoing it straight back to where it's come from.
Sissoko was ok until he had to use any subtlety or run with the ball.

Alli was again a mixed bag some sublime passes and touches mixed in with lots of sloppiness and cumbersome footwork, (personally thought he got lucky with cross to Kane which never needed elevation)

Serge, was unlucky to be booked when he was as he was clearly fouled, (that foul also lead to their first goal) did some very good things but was far too impetuous often leaving Toby 1 on 1 with Arnautovic after he'd tried to close on Creswell when he had no chance of getting the ball or stopping the pass.

Sanchez looked good again but for a while he was shaken by a few early encounters with Carroll, but then rose to that challenge and Carroll was not really a threat in the game which is a big tick for the whole defence.
Hopefully it is just a case of trying too hard to impress and win every ball and he will calm down a bit.

Llorente came on and showed passion, skill and fought to hold the ball
and Winks looked more like the Winks that burst onto the scene last season.

Davies was ok
And Toby was Toby. (always a 7+)
Lloris distribution was better than late and mopped up quite well.

I think Sissoko played well and as long as he keeps it simple is effective
