Hopefully Wanyama will be back for the Apoel game and Dier will make up the back 3. Be a good opportunity for Jan to rest up and hopefully not be missed. Great performance last night full of blocks and tackles. Enjoyed his little run down the left flank as well.

there was one time in the 2nd half when he bombed forward on a counter and someone (maybe Kane?) whipped it in to another player in the box, ignoring Jan, and Jan put his hands up like an attacker asking "Wtf?"

made me laugh

With Sanchez coming in at one of the CB3 now, I expect to see super Jan going up more often. Hope he can score for us real soon!

Man he wants to score bad...
He seems to have more energy than his first season (scored 6 for us iirc?); amazing physical condition he's in this past two seasons, big chunk of credit goes to Poch's team I'm sure.

As far as Apoel are concerned, we can play a 4231 against them and still remain solid.

Knowing the red won't keep him out of the games against Madrid has me feeling weirdly confident for those games. Having everyone fit and available for those games could make way for a shock

It's the hope that kills ya though

Or we could slot Davies into back three for the game as he'd then be able to provide left-footed balance as well as getting forward a bit like Super Jan (as long as Rose is back by then to cover left wing back).

We'd have no LWB though

Can't ever see Poch playing Davies as LCB as long as he has options like Dier. Dier back in with Wanyama in holding mid makes most sense.

Such an important player for us, had a great game yesterday, both in defence and supporting the attack. With Sanchez at the back I'm really enjoying the extra freedom he has to venture forward.
