Someone told me (vague I know!) that the Victoria Line actually runs under Northumberland Park on the way to Tottenham Hale. Any idea of this is true?.

Almost correct: There's a branch line that runs from the main Victoria Line between Seven Sisters & Tottenham Hale that goes north and terminates at a depot and maintenance area next to Northumberland Park overground station. This explains all:

No, although it's close to being true. There is a depot for Vic line trains at Northumberland Park. In order to have a Vic line station, they'd have to add a spur which TFL are 100% against doing. The Victoria Line is the most efficient line in the network because there are no spurs or junctions, which is where many of the problems for other lines arise. To build a line the cost would mean it would need to have sufficient usage and by having it running it would reduce the efficiency of the test of the line and the capacity of the main line North of the branch junction as some trains would be diverted to Northumberland Park.

All round an idea which TFL do not love and which doesn't have a compelling argument other than transporting people for football, which can be achieved by other means.

Edward's weekly time lapse update.
Looks like they have done a lot on the new East Stand last week, so we can probably expect them to bring it up to the new South Stand pretty soon.
I am going to feel like a 4 year old kid on Christmas day when we finally get in there. Really not enjoying the Wembley experience, but needs must!.

I hope all your Chtistmas's come true then! My genuine hope is that all our excitement proves to be justified.

Although lammy did campaign for it as there was no tube in northern tottenham (if i remember correctly) he said it would help people in the area have a greater chance for employment.

Very interesting. So we would have no home stadium until October and pay no rent nowhere else for August and September. :ROFLMAO: Also, based on the start of this season, it's the perfect way to avoid Wembley fudging with our season start. :joyful:

You can't have more than 1 "home" stadium in a season. Where we start is where we stay.

That's what they say but if 2/3 of prem clubs vote to change that, it would be possible.

What happens if there is a fire or bomb at a stadium? Does that team just concede their home games? Are the relegated? Could they play just away games?

Because we're so popular that our rivals would help us out :ROFLMAO:

The way I read it is, we want to play 8 away fixtures, therefore we will only have one home during the season. I haven't explained it very well, sorry.

I get you @Mister Jez
I was responding to @Everlasting Seconds who suggested we were asking for the 8 away games to avoid paying rent on Wembley.
Maybe rather too seriously I suggested it wasn't to avoid rent but to avoid being stuck at Wembley for a whole season as the rules are that you can't have 2 home stadiums in one season*

Based on this seasons fixtures that would take us up until the end of November. No chance of the Premier League bigwigs letting that happen. I suspect they might let us have a couple of extra months into the season but not nearly a half of it away.

If its true of course.

Based on this season’s form I think Levy would ask for the first 38 to be away.

Premier league is not the problem, it could be altered like WestHam & Liverpool have done, given this is an exceptional scenario

Problem is Champions league. If we finish 4th we start as early as August midweek. If we qualify normally, then we would have to play in September.

I dont think UEFA will agree to have few home games at Wembley & then rest at new stadium. If we play 1 home game at Wembley, then we may have to play all our CL (or EL) 2018/19 fixtures at Wembley

UEFA rules on Venues :

upload_2017-9-25_14-59-51.png

They say "in principle" club has to play in same venue. So, I guess there is room for manoeuvre. May be playing CL in multiple venues may not be a problem if we "take care" of UEFA officials

Something is not right in your calculations. This season's 8th league match is against Bournemouth on 14 Oct. Not the end of Nov.

Perhaps you counted the first 8 home matches.

We've played 6 games already this season haven't we? The Huddersfield and then Bournemouth weekends would take us up to 8 away from home. 14th October not end of November. We already would have 4 of those scheduled as away anyway (y)

Edit - answered as it came up. David above has already answered this.
