This team are no mugs. Never thought it was going to be an easy game. Missing Eriksen as well as Dele means Winks is our only creative outlet. I think Winks has had a good game. Made a couple of wrong decisions but showed glimpses of what we saw last season. Aurier needs up his game and decision making as well. Back 3 has looked shaky. Poch needs to work his magic in the dressing room.

Lucky to be winning for sure. Dont think anyone individually is having a shocker, team just looks disjointed which is no surprise i guess given who is missing

Harry 'can't score in Europe' Kane with his 5th CL goal, and currently our third highest scorer in European football history.

Nah it's clearly a one off season, until he leads us to a CL and PL double he's a flash in the pan.

Wow so much negativity. We haven't been THAT bad. Geezes. We haven't been great but calm down peeps

Lads, it's SC..

Was never going to be a classic performance, we're missing a load of players including our most important one. This is going to be one one of those fuck the performance, take the points and run games.

They have got some funny names names; Boy Waterman, Shall I?, Kal-El, AloneF(uck)T(h)is

I'm finding myself laughing randomly like an idiot because "Boy Waterman" keeps popping in my head. I mean, what compelled his parents?..I dont even know why I find the name so funny I'm getting a stitch from laughing so much :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

No idea either.

Trippier on the left totally nullifies his best and only real talent which is his incredible right foot. KWP is actually pretty good on the left and has a a decent resume of performances there.
Trippier is also a far better crosser of the ball than Aurier who has spurned numerous good chances to put a decent delivery in.

I don’t understand all the negativity in this thread. We didn’t look that great but half the team we’re fielding won’t be starting in a match like this for us a month from now. I’d happily take a 1-0 result and get the hell out of there.

In theory, with the Cypriots chasing the game, we should have plenty of chances as the field opens up...

... but that's just in theory.

In reality, this has the feeling of a Europa League game in which we end up conceeding softly and end up not being able to string two passes together and by the 85th minute are just lumping balls into the box in some aimless hope that someone, somehow bundles the ball over the line...

... but I'm an optimist so, you know, reckon we'll win 4-0.

Formations have their pros and cons, but playing five defenders, plus Dier, makes us both slow and disjointed.

I loved when we played Toby and Jan, and Dier would drop into the centre and they would spread and suddenly we went from a back four to three, with the full backs bombing right on. With the three centre backs, then Dier sat in front of them, we have at least one spare defender which we just don't need against this type of opposition.

Add in Trippier on the left, and it leaves us horribly misshapen and lumpen, yet still with plenty of space to get in, around and through us.

Its a surprise because these last few weeks (since the Burnley game) we have felt like less than the sum of our parts, whereas before Poch had made us so, so much more than the sum.

When you consider we're missing 6 first team players it doesn't seem that bad

Like they said, most teams would struggle missing that many

It's bad in my eyes. What have we created apart from that one chance? Their defence has errors in there, we need to be more positive and decisive.

Obviously so but let's not compound the issue by continuing to place square pegs in round holes

What game have you been watching?

It's been a shambles, quite literally.

I agree we've been poor but wholly disagree with how poor we've been. It's not a shambles but we need to improve in the second if we want to get three points

Unlucky Son, much better from Kane there in choosing to play the player in.

Good first 15 I thought. Then they started to get a bit adventurous and we left gaps for them that a better team would have exploited. We seemed to lose out heads up until the goal. Stupid decisions, getting caught out of position. It doesn't help that we've got square pegs and that doesn't allow us to be as dynamic. Need to be very professional and sensible this half.

We look like Liverpool when it comes to dealing with crosses into the box.
