Martin Tyler annoys me with his obvious biased nature towards westham and negativity towards Spurs in these matches. It come to my attention all those years ago in our excellent 4-3 win at Upton Park when Staltieri got the winner. Every goal Spurs scored were met with very subdued commentary but when westham scored, he was screaming with excitement. The Staltieri winner got a " oooooooo noooooooo" out of his then commentating partner Andy Gray ( I believe it was ) ... it just so biased towards westham and even Saturdays game was the same: Westhams 2nd goal by that lanky streak of piss Kayote was almost as if they equalised he was that excited for them.

Sorry to be that guy, but I don't think Tyler was on the comms for that game. Think the voice is Alan Parry.

No have a look on YouTube mate. The one with Andy gray is definitely Martin Tyler. If I'm wrong then I apologise but almost 99.9% certain it's Tyler.

When did the fans and pundits threads merge? Just read 6 pages of nonsense on sky and managed to find three posts about what our opponents fans are saying.

I know this thread regularly gets taken off topic but this was a mess.

I popped onto a Huddersfield Town site to see what they were saying about Martin Tyler...Imagine my shock to find that not one fan was talking about him!

Found this little chain of posts though...

I find it irratating that I can't read comments on the Spurs equivalent of DATM.
While I can understand that I should register there to place a comment, I find the insular attitude of "Come on you Spurs" somewhat worrying.

I assume you are talking about COYS forum? Most of us are banned from there! No THFC negativity/questioning mods/taking the mick out of 'ITKs' is allowed whatsoever.

There is also Spurs Community which i believe is an open forum.

Cheers, thanks for the links. They look like a decent lot.

I will be watching the match with a Spurs supporting friend. A few beers have been wagered. Looking forward to Schindler v Kane.

There was also this...

This on one of the spurs forums:

"I have been weighing up the pros & cons of Huddersfield

Patrick Stewart supports them - positive
Harold Wilson was born there - negative
They hate Leeds - positive
They speak funny - negative
They don't play in red - positive
They invented Rugby League - negative
Britain's largest nodding dog (11 feet) was made there - positive

4-3 in favour.

Its official, we don't hate them.

The Huddersfield response...

A few Tottenham pros and cons ...

There's lots of gang crime - negative
Leslie Phillips was born there - positive
They have lots of riots - negative
They burnt down Allied Carpets - positive
Their fans do a great rendition of "When the Spurs go marching in" - positive
The singer Adele was born there - all previous pros/cons rendered irrelevant, we fucking hate them.

A poster on Redcafe:

This kid, he has so much potential. He has been scoring at least 30 goals per season since 2014-15. His prime years will likely come between 2019 and 2021. I don't understand why some people say he is overrated. At the end of the day, the main objective in football is to score goals to win a match and a tournament, if this kid can score on a consistent basis, it doesn't matter if he doesn't have the skills of Neymar or the pace of Bale. The question for me is: Can he score 50 goals this season ? He is the only striker in the world other than Rashford which I think will reach these figures in the next two seasons at most.

He thinks Rashford will hit 50 goals in a season in the next couple of year? o_O

He was doing so well until the end haha

Rashford? :cautious:o_O! He is a superb young player, but he will never play through the middle as a striker. He will always be a wide man cutting in so the chances of him getting that many goals is slim to none. If Rashford gets 15+ goals a season then thats a great return, like Alli & Eriksen for us.

Rashford looks to me more like that of an Henry mould. I think he will go on to be a very big player for United

The Huddersfield response...

Very funny.

On a side note, I've always assumed that all Huddersfield supporters are in their 70's. It's pretty much confirmed now seeing that he's had to explain who Adele is but not Leslie Phillips.

There were some classic callers into Talksport on last nights drive time show, where they asked the question whether Harry Kane is world class.. They had a couple of daft twats supporting Arsenal and Chelsea respectively, who had absolutely no idea what they were saying and completely contradicted themselves through out their rants... The common belief is that Kane is not world class because he s not won anything.. That was their one and only blinkered view, irrespective that he's been top scorer for the last two years in the most competitive league on the planet..

I don't hate Adele either, although that might be because I've never yet managed to stay awake for an entire song. She is the 21st century Chris De Burgh.
I don't listen to her music but she's a working class girl from Tottenham, is a world wide success & she loves our Club, hate is the furthest thing in my mind when her name is mentioned, love & respect are the two words that spring to mind when she's the subject matter.
