It's a foot injury and relatively knew? Can't see how we are worried for the long term. Id be more worried if it was his hip again.

I posted a quote from Poch in the Dembele thread. He'll never be the same again and will play limited games

This will be dembele last season imo.Poch is ruthless there's no way we will carry a passenger in the squad and he will be 31.Graceful retirement.Ultimately I feel he will look Back on his career as what might have been.So much natural ability never really fulfilled.Injuries didn't help but don't feel he ever reached his potential.Saw Danny Murphy talking about his days at Fulham and said"he could go past anyone, keep the ball for fun,but there's was rarely an end product assist or goal"
However much poch may have lauded him as a genius.I thought his "no goals"comment was quite telling the other day.with everyone fit,we are fine in CM for now.Winks and sissoko certainly make us a lot more direct. But we will need dembele ball keeping ability and strength in the big games. No doubt Barkley will come January and probably another in summer.

As unpopular as it would be I think id look to replace dembele at the end of the season. We just can't rely on him at all now and the older he gets he will play less and less. Its not like a Ledley King situation either. The manager needs players he can rely on in the squad. But only if we can replace him properly.

Not going to harp on about it once more, but I was hoping we'd have gone in for Kondogbia.

Still reckon he's the closest thing to Dembele replacement I've seen when on song.

Form dipped at Inter, but what a talent at Monaco. Reckon Poch could really get him firing once more.

Starting to tear it up at Valencia of late. ( loan with buy option ). Could we hijack that come seasons end?.

I think Poch would have loved a player in this mould 5/6 years younger - he clearly appreciates his natural talent and strength on the ball but with the right coach MD could have added more of that end product too.

One of the best players around with the ball in possession, sadly i agree with your point - his full potential could have been unreal/world class levels, sadly a mixture of injuries and perhaps less focused coaching/training over the years will cost him that.

Definitely needs replacing if his fitness is seemingly in question so much.

Wonder if it's Plantar Fasciitis?

Comes out of nowhere and is horrendously painful.

Gout/Arthritis is a good shout (usual Plantar causes, environmental conditions), a mazy dribbler is always likely to get this over time.

As a lot of posters know, I'm somewhat obsessed with minerals/pH/Acid-Alkaline stuff.

If you damage (say) the hip, and lymphatic flow is compromised (or circulation in general), it would be a natural byproduct for areas lower than this in the body to then become prone to residue damage (the body will then seek to calcify crystallised Uric acid, for example, to stop it damaging the area it is lodged/stuck in).

It may be very difficult to isolate what is causing the inflammation (beyond the obvious endurance methodology Poch aligns to) , but I believe it is best managed by testing foods and minimising exposure to under ripe foods, or excess (poor) meats with non protein nitrogen, which is essentially incomplete proteins without the full amino acid chains and insufficient minerals bound to the carbon chains (which in turns means oxygen insufficiency). The dietitians/nutritionists at Spurs could advise the kitchen to test foods with a refractometer whilst preparing, and inform suppliers if they are showing poor quality.

People brush over diet, but it's like having a Veron and using cheap oil IMO.

Love Dembele, doesn't get the plaudits he deserves, second season under Poch he was key to our rise.

Apparently that was Son's problem when he was out for a while.

Whilst painful, it is extremely treatable and certainly wouldn't be a barrier to long term physical activity.

Without getting into it, the right footwear, orthotics if required, potential steroid treatment, strapping/taping and exercises can all significantly help the pain, and solve the cause of the condition.

Between Winks/Onomah and most likely Barkley in January, we're stacked in the CM position. Also, we have two younger players in Tashan Oakley-Boothe and Paris Maghoma who have been labelled as dembele clones.
Winks is still getting fitness, Onomah is on loan, and Barkley plays/is injured for Everton. TOB and especially PM look a long way off replacing Dembele.

So it's just Winks, really, in terms of people who can do a job now. Hardly stacked, and Winks is a different type of CM to Dembele.

Edit: I forgot about Sissoko, but that's because he's so forgettable. And also not a CM.

Actually he's been playing a lot better as a central midfielder

Really wish we'd got a quality CM in, everyone knew that Dembele constantly has something wrong and can't play two games a week.
It only looks this way now because Wanyama is hurt and Winks has struggled for fitness.

Otherwise we look pretty good.

I would only look to add a CM if they're a proper world beater already. Otherwise I really believe in Winks. Plus a lot of our promising youth are CMs.

We still have a lot of options inCM with dembele out.It also seems poch is adopting a more 3331 formation with just 1 CM much like city do with fernandinho. So this will be either wanyama/dier.and then you have flexibility with the 3 behind Kane.the 2 slightly wider dropping back into CM as would the wing backs when needed.Whether this was already in poch mind or dembele situation has encouraged it not really sure. However much I love dembele.I think long term we will be a better team without him.Yes he keeps the ball well but that can also be looked at as slowing the flow. And the fact is for a more attacking CM he contributed virtually no assists or goals.

Maybe he needs to go veggie, with organic produce and also make sure he's consuming enough essential oils, cold pressed flax, hemp, etc?!!!

It's a fair point, but damning him with faint praise. Dembele is a guaranteed starter, when fit; Sissoko only gets in when there are injuries. Big difference.

From Poch's press conference he said "we'd know more over the next few weeks", so I don't think he will play anytime soon.

If I was the club I would be aiming to get him back for Madrid home or Dortmund away. Those are the 2 games that we will really need him back for, as they will be the most important for getting through the champions league group.

Wanyama posted a pic of himself doing gym work so if he's back in a couple of weeks we could be fine for the league games in the middle of the park.

Dier has been involved every match till date ,he will be involved for England as well. We need to give him a break.Getting Wanyama back after intl break will be welcome news.
