I... guess?! He's doing okay there so presumably will hold some value now.
There's a 0.0001% chance he gets in the RB slot ahead of Trips, Aurier, and KWP where he has played exclusively for Atlanta, so I have no idea what the goal for him would be. Has to be to sell. I've only watched him twice and both times he was good but not setting MLS on fire which you'd have to do to be considered above League 1/2 level talent IMO.

Could see Atlanta buying him in the summer tbh.

Seems like he’s very much loved over there and tbh it’s probably his level.

If I was him I’d jump at the chance to sign permanently if spurs were willing to sell.

The internet will go into meltdown when it realises we have a RB called WALKes in our academy aswell

Hopefully it won't be as annoying as the Kyle walker-peters-peters jokes though because they got boring very quickly

Every televised academy game he has played for the last 3 years the opposition commentator would always have to make some commentator on it. The jokes were predictable

Don't actually ever remember him playing RB for us. Was a DM, LB, then CB, then apparently an AM, and now Atlanta play him RB.
I remember him playing there a couple of times when KWP wasnt with U18's cant think why though

My cousin was in the Leeds academy same year as Gary Kelly, both RBs. At 16 my uncle told him he had to do his A-Levels so my cousin went part time in the academy. They thought he was good enough they let him go to school in the mornings and train in the afternoon. Obviously he fell behind the players doing full time training. Didn't get a pro contract but was able to go to uni.

It's just a ridiculous decision to have to make at 16. Clubs should be forced to assure that youth players attain some qualifications between 16 and 18. If not A Levels then something to prepare them for the real world. I personally think you should not be able to sign on with an agent until you have completed a course in business studies.

I know that nick tsaroulla and a few other spurs players were given time and games off to concentrate on their a levels. Think we also have a deal with a college?

I didn't state in here. I actually wouldn't complain about it in here to be honest.

It's just all over the player threads, game threads, post game threads, etc.

Mostly the same perpetrator to be fair and I'm sure everyone could guess who. That said it becomes so tiresome and bogs down threads.

That said it does point to an overarching theme. That of bogging down numerous threads on this board with Poch doesn't play youth, X youth player should be playing, we shouldn't buy Y player because we've got X youth etc. Then when the youth don't cut it even in their youth games all the excuses come out. Poor pitch, Ugo Ehiogu (RIP), they're young, etc. Can't really have it both ways.

Threads get bogged down by whiney bollocks like this. Or by people waffling on for 10 pages about how Sissoko is great now, or how Alli's clumsiness is what makes him great, or how fabulous it would be to buy any player who has 12 appearances in ligue 1 or the Bundesliga, and threads get absolutely ground to 150 page log jam at the thought of paying 25m for James McCarthy or 45m for Ross Barkley.

Pots and Kettles, you've only got the hump in this thread coz you can't slag Dier off in here

Anyone else think that KWP could actually play as an 8 in this new system of ours ? When you think of the qualities we need in that role right now, someone dynamic, great engine, tenacious and defensively capable but who has great technique and is comfortable taking the ball in tight spaces or under pressure from a press, who then can dribble out of a press or pass out of a press, who can move forwards and go at players in the opposition third. Happy to show for the ball under tight circumstances and will see plenty of it etc etc.

england call-ups:

u17 wc squad - eyoma, tob
u19 - tanganga
u20 - edwards
u21 - kwp, onomah, winks

bit surprised bennetts isn't with the u19s given he's in his best form since he was an u16 and skipp as previously mentioned is unfortunate not to be going to the world cup.

Haven't checked the u19s squad but you would think Bennetts has earned it.

First time Brown has missed out too I think, which, while I know some don't rate him, I think is strange as he has played well this season imo

Thought Brown was thought of highly?

I think the coaches rate him highly and I like him. I think he is a good CB and a LB that knows how to play football. He isn't a bomb down the wing FB or skillful dribbler but I think he is a decent attacker and good defender. Kind of like Davies. I think some people like @WindyCOYS for example will see him as average, i.e. not bad but not particularly good.

Yeah, he's not my cup of tea - never seen him have a really good game that I can recall. Prefer him at LCB to LB/LWB. Much prefer Tsaroulla personally.

I have seen a him play a number of matches as Atlanta, IMO, play by far the best brand of football in the MLS. It took him a while to adjust to FB but has been very good over the last 8 or 9 matches. I could see him playing as a RCB in a 3 man back line without any problems. This has been a great loan spell for him and he is getting to play beside probably the smartest defender in the MLS in Michael Parkhurst.

As far as Walkes staying in Atlanta, there could be worse places to play. Exciting brand of football in a new stadium with a rabid fan base. They average about 45,000 fans a match and just started playing in a new stadium about a month ago where they set the MLS attendance record of about 70,000 a couple of weeks ago. Looks like he will have some options but from the interviews I have seen, he plans to come back to Spurs after the MLS season.

player i never got who plenty rate was/is luke amos, just a total bland player, who never showed me anything particularly noteworthy. And the only times I noticed him were for the wrong reasons when we were being totally outplayed.

Yeah, I have only watched maybe 5-10 full games, but most have featured the kid. I have never seen anything out of him that says "he is a future first teamer" let alone squad player.
