In part, i believe. We pulled out and dropped any legal challenges after certain asurances were made. One was that athletics would have to have a long term tenancy, another that the daves couldn't sell it off for quick profit. Although this may be speculation.

I knew about the athletics part but didn't know about not being able to sell.

I love our chairman.

Levy will run you into the ground wearing shiny leather gloves and a broad smile on his face, with such guile, that you'll end up apologising for not being able to stay afloat after all he's done for you. A true capo di tutti capi of the football world.

Can you imagine Carlo standing outside their ground next to the Dildo Brahs doing the X Factor sign?
Nah, me neither

Would Carlo go there after the whole "dildo Bros" comments by Sporting Lisbon? Surely he'd not want to sully his reputation?

Are their strong rumours about Ancelotti going to West Ham then? He wont go, the guy is WAY too good for them.

Why would Ancelotti go there? Look at the list of clubs that he's managed since 2000:

Juventus
Milan
Chelsea
PSG
Real
Bayern

If one of the top six English clubs were after him they'd have a chance, but I can't see him being interested in a mid-table side who have never qualified for the Champions League. I wouldn't be surprised to see him back in Italy, or going into International management.

Benitez has a similar pedigree of clubs and is at Newcastle.

Don't believe Ancelloti would go to West Ham though. Liverpool and Everton jobs could be availsble if he is that keen on coming back to the Prem.

That's a bit different though as his family stayed in England after he left Liverpool. He was desperate to come back to England to be near his family.

If that was true he would not have spent the next 6 years abroad.

So west ham are stuck with dumb and dumber in charge for atleast another four years? Am i reading that right?

That's what it seems like to me !

Unless Albert Smith buys out the stadium in his own name and releases West Ham from their existing contract and puts a less restrictive one in place. That would enable him to buy out the dildos and puts a fully-grown human in charge.

Possible, but very unlikely as the article says he has no interest in increasing his stake. But possible...

How delusional are West Ham fans thinking that Ancelotti would even consider going there? That would be like hiring Jeff Bezos to run your local McDonalds franchise. David Moyes on the other hand.........

Ancelotti will go back to ac milan. Montella will get the sack anyday now if the results doesnt drastically improve

If I were a gambling man, that's what my money would be on.

If it's not that, then I think he'll just bide his time for the next big PL job or wait and see if Allegri leaves Juve (he's been trying to come to the PL for ages now) and step in there.

Montella won't last at AC Milan so wouldn't be surprised if he goes back to them, they've got an interesting project happening with the new investors.

Interesting project / disaster waiting to happen :censored:

If they don't miraculously become the most dominant force in Italy and Europe very quickly, I fear there won't be an AC Milan left in a few years time. This whole takeover thing is an absolute disgrace.

Really? I must have missed something...

Milan is such an institution though. Can't imagine them keeling over...

The consortium that took over the club don't actually have enough money. That's one of the reasons the takeover took so long is because when it came to actually pay up, they didn't have the money they'd agreed on. In a last minute desperate attempt to get the cash together, they borrowed a huge amount of money from a particularly unsavory American hedge fund, who basically specialise in lending money to desperate people who can't afford it, with a massive interest rate to whom they have a fixed deadline to repay the money.

So in short, the money that they've used to buy the club and then splash out on lots of players this summer is all borrowed money at an extortionate interest rate that they have to pay back very quickly or the whole thing blows up. Not sure exactly what happens then but I would assume that the hedge fund would take over the club and strip it down to get their money. The only way I can see this not ending badly is if Milan suddenly become the dominant force in world football and start generating the kind of revenue Man Utd or Real Madrid make. But somehow I doubt that's about to happen any time soon.

Like I say, disaster waiting to happen. It's like being given a multi-million pound mortage that you can't afford. It's all rosy for a couple of weeks when you're sitting in your huge mansion smoking cigars and drinking brandy, but once your first couple of repayments kick in you're fucked.

Thanks for clearing that up!

Looks like they've taken a leaf out of the Peter Ridsdale book of managing a football club...
