Edward's weekly update.

Looks like there is prep going in for the hotels and accommodation.

The local businesses must be suffering from the drop off in trade on a matchday which must be a massive proportion of their revenue. They have probably had to go into semi hibernation mode.

They'll be getting a lot of builders 7 days a week.

I went down on my bike the other week with a mate. We were stood in the middle of the road, at least 12' from the gates looking through them, and the security guards were talking feverish amongst themselves and glaring at us. I thought it was my imagination but obviously it wasn't. They looked desperate to get rid of us even though we were on public property and looking through the gate that they could and made no attempt to obscure.
Security probably on edge due to WHL having 'travellers' on the grounds with their caravans and trucks before being removed by council and police.

Looks like Fairview Homes are going to take forward the site at 500 WHL

Oh dear. Fairview Homes. Not exactly the cutting edge of urban design. Lots of cheapo brick boxes with inappropriate pitched roofs and bad detailing. I could quote estates in places like Harlesden and Southgate.

I have an old friend who went from working for housing associations to being Fairview's in-house affordable housing expert. He left Fairview recently, but if anyone gives a shit, I might be able to find out what they are building here. Just ask if you care.

That's looking fantastic - they've actually kept a really rectangular shape to the actual stands with proper corners, which is so much better than some awful shapeless bowl - way better for the acoustics and will feel so much more like an actual football stadium than say the Degenerates or the Taxpayer Stadium. No doubt having those harder corners helps to keep everything that much closer to the pitch as well.

Whilst what you've said is true, re: upgrades the line has benefitted from and the negatives which would have arisen had those things not been done... In a world where all things were equal (new equipment on all lines) it remains true that those lines without branches will be more efficient than those that do. So, ok, there is more behind its 'most efficient' status (paying mind to the Jubilee and Bakerloo) but it is also true that if it was dicked around with the outcome would be a line which is less good for the majority who use it to benefit a small minority in Tottenham.
Of course which is what we've both said. To be a pedant, lines are measured on reliability and targeted appropriately depending on size, demand, upgrades, previous performance etc. The two main measures used to determine this are Lost Customer Hours (LCH) and Excess Journey Time (EJT), the details of which I'm not going to go into, I do however work in the department which provides the data.

That sounds like a really interesting job ....

Should we be worried about Kane's latest interview?

He clearly says that things are moving forward at Spurs including a new stadium in TWO 2 years time

I've just received a season ticket survey via email. I really hope this isn't the exclusive, exciting news we were waiting for.
