Should we be worried about Kane's latest interview?

He clearly says that things are moving forward at Spurs including a new stadium in TWO 2 years time

Nothing to worry about, with Harry in his current form it's only possible for him to count from 2 upwards.

Edward's weekly update.

Looks like there is prep going in for the hotels and accommodation.

The local businesses must be suffering from the drop off in trade on a matchday which must be a massive proportion of their revenue. They have probably had to go into semi hibernation mode.

Also noticed 2 key things

i) Flooring being done for Steel south stand, which is a massive progress. This means foundation & steel setting is done for the single tier stand

ii) Trench/Foundation dug along the pitch sideline for the elevated platform for sliding pitch. This means preparation work for sliding pitch is also well underway

I have been watching the preparations for the roof to go on with keen interest, especially on the North and West sides. Never seen anything like it before and still can't work out how they will do it.

Some of the guys in work with me carried out some work on site there not so long back for Vinci I think the firm is called, and they were amazed at how it's going up and the sheer size of it.

As I understand it (from one of my colleagues who worked on our roofing bid) the cable structure will be made at low level then winched in to place and then tightened up, then the the solid structure will follow on top.

I'm not 100% certain but believe the solid structure will be made up of a number of roofing 'cassettes'. From what I understand this is the quickest process available.

That is correct, the structure will go up in the cable network, with secondary steel and then the cassettes on top.

Comments like this surprise me, were they amazed because they haven't seen the process of such a stadium being built before or because it's big in comparison to other similar stadiums? If you know what I mean.

Looks like Fairview Homes are going to take forward the site at 500 WHL

Oh dear. Fairview Homes. Not exactly the cutting edge of urban design. Lots of cheapo brick boxes with inappropriate pitched roofs and bad detailing. I could quote estates in places like Harlesden and Southgate.

I have an old friend who went from working for housing associations to being Fairview's in-house affordable housing expert. He left Fairview recently, but if anyone gives a shit, I might be able to find out what they are building here. Just ask if you care.

[tumbleweeds]

I'd be keen to know David - cheers

He says he left Fairview before they got involved in this project. Ah well.

Just a thought. I know that big red and yellow crane can be dismantled to an extent, but I hope they can get it through the opening in the East Stand at the end of the project. Ah well, we can always park it in front of our goal! #oops..

Edwards weekly update to yesterday (7th). Great to see the terracing going in on the South Stand now.

In my spare time I watch the odd game at the Kassam (Oxford Utd) so feel safe that we are not going to end up with a 3 sided carbuncle now!.
