Got a bit carried away watching the Bobby Charlton documentary last night. When they showed the statue of law best Charlton, was imagining one of Dele eriksen Kane outside new stadium lol.But all joking aside there’s something about Kane that really reminds me of Charlton. Not so much playing style but as a person.Just his hard working humble outlook.
I really did get carried away imagining Kane lifting the World Cup in the same season he lifted the PL and CL lol.

Being completely unbiased (honest!) I think he would be the deserving winger.

It’s too stale just giving it to Ronaldo or Messi all the time and Ronaldo is on the wane a bit.

You could also argue the Spanish league is a little less tough and competitive compared to the premiership... :ninja:

Biased or not @DJS, Kane would be a deserved winner for his contribution. Influence in the CL for the next few games could be crucial to whether he gets higher in the nominations.

Much bigger inpact on football this year compared to Messi or Ronaldo. Could be interesting.

The winner is coming from Ronaldo or Messi no matter what they do.

Unfortunately players love getting these awards, reality to the savvy supporter is very very different. This award is a pure pals act award, its as bent as they come.

Ronaldo and Messi who have won it for the past 8 or 9 years have done so deservedly, not sure why you'd think it was bent? If Dwight Gayle was winning it year in year out then I'd be suspicious.

Harry Kane has no assists. Don't get me wrong love the goals but he could do better on the assist side sometime put Alli in.

Last season he had 7 assists, which was second only to Sanchez of the players scoring 10 goals or more. (According to BBC's stats.)

He had 7 assists in the Premier League last season. I mean, it isn't Maradona in his prime, but it's more than enough for a player from whom creating is only a secondary task.

Bigger impact than Ronaldo who scored 10 goals from the quarter finals onwards in the CL, by far the biggest factor in deciding a Balon d'Or winner, to drive Madrid to winning the CL as well as La Liga?

Kane has been incredible but Ronaldo will be a deserving winner. Don't think any non-Spurs fan would back Kane over him.

To add to the debate I think for Kane to win he needs to have a 2018 that matches his 2017, and go deep in the CL and WC, possibly winning golden boot in both.

The crazy thing is you could see him doing it!

I can't see him going deep in the World Cup. Unfortunately for him, he's English.

Its possible. People mock England but we still qualified with ease. Jusy need a few things to go in our favour, worse sides have achieved more.

Worse sides have had better tactical plans and players suited to the manager's plan. I think England have the players, if all are fit, to have a good tournament and if Southgate can practice what he preaches they could do well. Problem is Southgate's selections have often been at odds with what he seems to want to achieve.

True, but he's capable of bagging a couple of hat tricks in the right circumstances in the World Cup, which could easily be enough to finish as top scorer.

England's best chance is to build the team around him. If other players have an issue with that, shift them out as they're mostly average at best anyway. You could probably put together a hard-working and well drilled team from the Championship, with Kane up front, and it would do better than any side containing Horrenderson.
