Still not convincing. Our performance was too labored, predictable slow and stale most of the time in my opinion.

Cannot wait for a fit Lamela, Wanyama and Dembele to compete for a place in the 1st eleven

Verts my MOTM

Attendance 73,502 or 73,545 depends on who you chose to believe, Still enough to fill our new home and have 12,000 outside!

Verts a clear MOTM

Winks was very tidy but didn't really provide much attacking impetus.

Sissoko has improved by leaps and bounds. I'd have him play attacking mid in place of Son or Alli in the next match.

Vertonghen World Class - 9

Dele playing like he lost his left foot in a car accident - Poch would still play him if it was true - 4

Everyone else 6.

Verts MOTM. He was everywhere, from the attacking third to making crucial tackles on our end.

Rest were ok, nothing to write home about. Sissoko, however, was very impressive when he came on. His power runs really tamed Bournemouth's final push.

Vertonghen obviously outstanding again, but the difference between us celebrating a scrappy 1-0 and us bemoaning another shite result against an inferior team was Lloris today, with two top-class saves. Well played, Hugo.

Went for Vertonghen. Just watching him play out wide today, and how active and involved he was - made me recall when he had to play out wide under Sherwood, and how he hated it.

Really? I thought it did fine - changing systems, and we still kept a clean sheet.

I thought he looked poor today. He usually seems better in his duels, lost a lot today and fouled a lot. Also his passing was poor today. Eriksen had to drop deep in the second half because Dier, Winks, Sanchez and Toby had no clue what to do with the ball. Slow sideways passing against Bournemouth makes us too easy to defend against.

The grass looks too long at Wembley and needs watering. Not helped by our CMs and CBs constantly passing the ball behind our FBs so they have to pass backwards nearly every time.

Verts was brilliant. Him and Eriksen the only two who actually played half decent. Sissoko had a nice little cameo that he then spoilt by that over hit pass when it was 4 on 1.

Mourinho is going to be furiously 'bating himself into a coma with the idea of parking the bus against us at Wembley. Job done and Chelsea dropping points against Palace will make our prospects look better. Wanyama and Dembele returning will help so much... I hope. Rose and Lamela too.

Hugo "Our Lord and Savior" Lloris -7
Keiran "Even my balls are crossed" Trippier - 6
Davinson "Shit. Fuck. No its good. Ok. Cool" Sanchez - 6
Toby "New position no problem" Aldeweireld - 7
Jan "Get bent I got this shit" Vertonghen - 8*
Harry "Ball Postman" Winks - 6
Eric "Ball to me back to you back to me back to you" Dier - 6
Christian "I score goals too okay" Eriksen - 7
Dele "I hear you talking shit... okay well carry on then for another week" Alli - 7
Harry "Standards so high we are sad when he doesn't fly" Kane - 6
Heung "I legit forgot you played so I had to edit this post" Min-Son - 5

Subs:
Moussa "50% Mo Salah 50% Mark Noble" Sissoko - 6
Fernando "+1 For your eyes" Llorente - 6
Georges "Honorary ankle tackle rating" Kevin-N'Koudou - 6

Well folks are we all still pumped up for Madrid?

Well at least I don't feel sick these days
when there's ten minutes to go and we are only 2-0 up.
Competent if unexciting performance.
Wembley curse. What Wembley curse.

Lloris.........7+ ......There when needed.
Sanchez....6+.........Worries me at times but then I'm a worrier.
Toby...........7..........Sound but not back to his formidable best yet.
Verts..........8..........All over the place but in a good way. MOM.
Trippier.......7.........Some good crosses and contributions
Dier............6+........Looks well shagged but not in a good way.
Winks........7..........Will be in Spurs midfield long after I've gone.Keep me posted. Bit negative today.
Eriksen......7..........Under par but scored the winner and continually probing..
Dele...........6+........Looked more interested. Some nice touches. Will the real Dele Alli stand up
Son............6+........Looked dangerous at times but not much achieved.
HK.............6+.........See Eric Dier. Didn't need him to score anyway.

Sissoko....Strong in body but not in football mind.
N'Koudou. That'll teach you. to chase Moussa's passes.

Think my computer is running slow. Must find the key and wind it up again.

Vets motm.

While the first and sections of the second half were ponderous we did enough really to deserve the win.

We are eventually going to us have to figure out what to do when playing vs 10 men behind the ball at home but with missing a couple of players 3 days before real perhaps today was not the day to go full pelt.

How was Sanchez? I missed 2nd half saw him get some criticism?

Josh king was giving him a rough time but he was okay. Easy to forget his age and inexperience at the level, he's younger than winks. It's ridiculous he's already a nailed on starter, massive prospect

Glad to see flexibility on the formation from Pochettino and a 4231, when I heard the line up I was worried that we were about to witness Son at left back again.

Performance wasn't great, it wasn't terrible either, it was another struggle to break down a team with no ambition. If we'd scored earlier we'd have murdered them, second half we had enough chances to win by a good margin but we were wasteful. 1-0 flattered Bournemouth.

Lloris made one great save during a first half melee, otherwise had little to do other than the routine.

Trippier was great, really good passing and crossing, nice set pieces, not caught out defensively.

Sanchez was poor, he over committed too often and, while this can be papered over in a three man defence, it can't in a two. Needs to learn when to drop off, when to attack.

Alderweireld was fine, as ever from left centre back his passing was a bit off but otherwise he was solid.

Vertonghen was man of the match, great defensively, great offensively, owned his flank.

Dier was good off the ball, some good challenges, but some of his passes were truly shocking.

Winks was fine but unspectacular, I want more from him now that he has the chance to make himself first choice. Very neat, very willing, but needs to be more Modric and less Jenas otherwise he'll only ever be a bench option to bring on when you need to retain possession.

Eriksen wasn't his best again but he improved as the game wore on, played a delightful pass for Harry and scored his goal after a bit of determination and a lovely finish.

Dele was much better, he drove forward with the ball, pressed well off it and was more decisive than he has been. Much more purposeful.

Son was poor, too weak, too telegraphed and very sloppy.

Kane wasn't his best, he worked hard enough and linked play but he was handled well by his 10 markers and seemed to have lost his shooting boots.

Sissoko had a strong cameo, deserved an assist for his great break aways, put it on a plate for Dele and also set free Nkoudou.

Llorente did little up front but he did clear no fewer than three Bournemouth set pieces.

Nkoudou had one chance, got clattered by the goalie, then looked rather deflated.

Patient performance against bus parkers, not enthralling but at least mature and committed. Think Pochettino erred with our defence, he lost a left back but decided to weaken central defence to compensate, ergo causing far more disruption than necessary. Should just had Alderweireld and Vertonghen as a two, put Aurier or KWP at left back. Yes, Vertonghen was our best player, but both Toby and especially Dave were disadvantaged as a result.
