BBC wasting no time

Tuesday 5 April, 2011. The last time Tottenham faced Real Madrid - a 5-0 loss at the Bernabeu Stadium.

On that same night, Harry Kane came off the bench for Leyton Orient in their League One win over Plymouth.

Six years on and the Spurs and England striker may be auditioning for a future job in a Los Blancos shirt.

Onto tonight's talking point...

Will Harry Kane end up at Real Madrid one day? How would he get on in Spain? Does he need to make the move?

oh dear.

If he pulls it off, it’s a master stroke but that is a risky line up. Poch prone to dropping the odd line up clanger in big games

So excited by this game. Interesting team selection, I hope it pays off.

Really want us to show how good we are and give them a game. Was listening to radio 5live in the build up,they were billing as Ronaldo v Kane. How good must that make Kane feel. Let's hope he can keep his CL scoring run going.

Looks like we're matching a diamond with a diamond.

Lloris
Aurier Sanchez Alderweireld Vertonghen
Dier
Sissoko Winks
Eriksen
Kane Llorente

Benzema C.Ronaldo
Isco
Modric Kroos
Casemiro
Marcelo Ramos Varane Hakimi
Navas
Man for man our first team matches up well, only area that I'd say is weak compared is the Winks/ Sissoko axis compared to Modric/ Kroos. Sadly that's a quite massive gulf, and the presence of only Son as an attacked on the bench is worrying.

It's also the formation that they play most frequently and one we're less accustomed to.

Still. I'm sure poch has prepped the players well... I'm expecting a loss so nothing to lose. Let's see how it plays out.

It’s the bench that concerns me. We’re very short of options

Would have loved to play this with Wanyama, Dembele, Rose and Alli all firing. Not that confident with that side but excited all the same

I'm not one to ever really give a shit about what the media say, but that is pretty bad from the Beeb. Massively disrespectful.

Oh Christmas tree Oh Christmas tree how lovely are your branches...

Could it be the fabled 4-3-2-1?

Don't mind Kane dropping a bit deeper where he can pick up lose balls, drive at them and get his shots away.

Such a shame that our team has been gutted by injuries for such a big game.

Yup. Those four plus Lamela and Davies would all have been in the match day squad.

No more looking at the fair play league to see if we can scrape Uefa cup, we have arrived in the big league.

Proud as fuck.

COME ON YOU SPURS.

Look at that bench. Our squad is looking pretty thin.
Alli, Nkoudou, Davies and likely Dembele back next CL game at least. Should be in a much better position for the return game. Shame Lamela can't be in the CL squad though.

Pity they couldn't get the score right. We lost 4 nil. 5 nil on aggregate.

Nothing to do with the line up just meant bricking it as in nerves really kicking in! It’s what happens for me as kick off nears in these bug games regardless of the side put out.

Anywho

Llorente to use his strength to occupy the center halves with Kane profiting from the space behind

If he can lay it off to Kane anywhere outside the area I expect Kane to shoot on sight.
Could bag a worldie tonight
