Agree. I grew up in Manchester and I'd say within Greater Manchester it's fairly evenly split between Utd and City and it always has been. Utd just have loads more fans outside of the local area. There's a lot of people (in particular southerners) who try and make out like City were a nothing club until the money came in but that's just not true. OK they didn't have the trophies but they've always had a big following, even when they were down in the lower divisions.
When City were in English football's third tier back in the 1990s, they used to get higher attendances than some clubs in the PL, if my memory serves me right.

...and now they've won the league they can't sell out.

Odd but meh modern football.

All the proper fans liked what the club was about pre selling out I guess. Community club that was the opposite of what Utd stood for now represents something even less organic

A post from a Real Madrid supporter on Redcafe:

First 15 minutes aside, spurs played with impressive maturity and were very smart. Understood the moments of the game and adapted accordingly, and well. Came in with a clear plan and executed it well. It was an impressive performance from them when you consider their age and inexperience. Just last season they were getting clowned at home by Monaco. They look ready this year, and will be a tough cookie for anyone in this competition

I love none of these comments mention we had 7 players unavailable to start.4 that would be nailed on starters.Well they used to be.Now it’s hard to decide our best xi.

From Arsemania.

Kane will want to do well tonight so as to impress his new club for next season.

Oh my god. Kane to Madrid confirmed

Looks more like an own goal to me. Annoying, we need a Kane hat trick so that Real take him and Potch next season. Hopefully some navas howlers so they take De Gea too.

Kane doing very well in his RM ‘job interview’ today.

Isn't there something gloriously ironic that the club who are about to lose most of their first team, due to being ancient or contracts running down, and their formerly iconic manager, hold on to one thread of hope - that Poch and Harry Kane will leave soon :)

Kane is extremely strong, he just barges through defenders.

Especially ones with no cojones - or so Troy Deeney tells us :)

Would be a surprise if Spurs don't make top 4. Their only flaw is their depth. If they sort that out in January, top 4 dogfight is going to be intense this year.

This comes up so much and it is a bit last year afaiac. We drew away to Real Madrid with Dembélé, Wanyama, Davies, Lamela and Dele all missing for various reasons. Isn't that what having a squad means - getting good results in difficult games even when a lot of first team/potentially first team players are missing?

Chapeau to some of the Goons, at least, as at least some of them are managing to be grudgingly magnanimous.

I see Aurier is getting some stick from other fans.

When you only watch the highlights, you won't realise he actually had a very good game.

And also there were a few comments about lack of squad depth, which were erroneous too. When everyone is fit, we've got a ridiculously good squad and with Sissoko actually starting to be useful, we don't have any passengers in it anymore

I love how it's us who have arrived. Where the fuck have those patronising Manc twats been for the last 4 years under Moyes, Van Gaal and Mourinho?!

Don't let a piss easy start to the Premier League go to your heads lads, will you now?
Some of those posts are clearly written by people who haven't got a clue about football. Idiots. Some sensible ones trying their best to explain it to them but then another ass hat appears.

The only downside about getting a good result at Real, is that you have to listen to Pochettino now being on the radar with the worlds best, let alone others if we don't pay them enough.
They are always quick to pour cold water on our decent results, with attitudes of club ain't doing enough to rewards the staff and players.

Now is the perfect tiem for Levy to give Kane and Poch a new contract. Imagine the feel good factor if there was a photo out today - Poch and Kane sign new 5 year deals!

I think others are in line for a contract renewal before Kane and Poch we dint even need to worry - the man is fully commited.
