Can anyone tell us what the cables are at the beginning of the video. I think it's unlikely, but could they be the tension cables for the roof? Or, more likely power cables?

No, you were right first time they're the beginning of the tension ring for the roof. They've started installing them on the West Stand as well now.

Just realised that no one in here had mentioned that the first 'tree' base turned up on site today, caused a lot of excitement on SSC. Huge landmark when both of those are installed.

Strewth, I thought they weren't due to be installed until January. That said they can't actually put them into place until the top level has been done all the way around, but it does seem to be going up fast at the moment! :woot: :cautious:

Sorry to be asking stupid questions, but I would assume that they are similar the the four trees that went in the East stand? Would I be right in thinking that they are for the South Stand then?

January is when the whole thing will be pulled into place, at the moment they are constructing it bit by bit on temporary scaffold platforms, then once the rest of the South Stand is completed and they can complete the ring and begin the lifting, the actual lifting process should only take 1/2 days, there's a few examples from other stadiums on youtube.

No, these are very different to the East Stand, will be an incredibly impressive feature.

They haven't gone up yet, have they?
I was going by the previous two posts and assumed it was those two centre posts on the south stand picture, if you're right then that can't be them in which case I suspect they will be thicker.
Ever felt like you are going round in circles?

The two tree trunks will hold the upper part of the south stand (which isn't on yet) so that can't be them.

Going back to look at the renders of the finished stadium, the centre of the south stand is going to be quite a bit higher the side, i.e. where the south stand meets the east and west stands. So that part must go higher yet and I would guess that those trees will go equidistant from each other, i.e. 1 third across and 2 thirds across. From the progress they making I would have thought that it will be too long before we see them going in.

Exciting isn't it! :woot::woot::woot:

Edwards latest weekly time lapse to 21 October. Not one of his best but the weather conditions play a big part in that by the looks of it. We are now seeing the build up of the last of the steel fame in the new South Stand.

Being the project manager of this must give a lot of sleepless nights, and I am sure Levy is screaming for regular updates.

No sign of the goalposts yet! :)
