A 'new' hip injury for Dembele. Fear this might be the end for him. His body can't handle it any more. Get Ross Barkley in asap, and we go with Harry Winks.

Vorm, Aurier, Rose, Sissoko, Son, Llorente on the bench. Last spot choose between KWP, Foyth, Edwards, and Georgiu. Of course, this is if Dembele, GKN, Wanyama and Lamela are all still out.

I feel like this game as much as any will define our season. It will show whether we can expect to end up in a title race, or a battle for Champions League qualification.

For me we need to have at least one of Sissoko or Son in the team, we need to set up exactly the same way we did against Dortmund and Madrid and those two are our best counter-attacking outlets.

I would rather Son personally and that goes for all games. I think he puts in just as good a shift defensively and is leaps and bounds ahead of Sissoko when attacking. Not sure as to why Poch doesn't see it that way. Am I mad for seeing it that way? No way in hell Sissoko puts 20+ goals in this year. Son can.

Amazingly sissoko seems to be better tactically than Son. His positioning against Madrid was spot on.

Im sorry but it feels weird praising him for anything. I'm still not certain he's anything but a footballer with average coordination.

I guessed this shows that we don’t have the strength in depth that the big boys do. How much better that team would look with Wanyama and Dembele in the middle. We always seem to be missing a full strength team, as soon as we get one back another goes. Great to see Rose back but Davis was a good replacement. Died and Winks are not

Liverpool always seem to have our number so id risk rose from the start, aurier over trips as well, and i believe more solidity in midfield is needed so id leave dele on the bench and keep sissoko in. Eriksen needed for moments of magic despite a poor turn tues night.

Think we'll get spanked again sadly, can see their attacking players loving Wembley

I don’t disagree that he is playing a role, but I can’t remember the last time Son was to blame for a goal and he is 1000 times the player going forward

Hard to disagree with this. Only possible difference would be that poch might play trip instead of serge.

It's about time we beat this lot, we're better than them in every department except maybe pace in wide area's.

To be honest I think you're looking at it a bit too simplistically.

Son is a better attacking footballer for sure but he blows hot and cold. Defensively though Sissoko is the more accomplished, positionally and in terms of tackling.

It's a bit simplistic to just compare the two without thinking about the balance of the side in general and which would be a better choice overall for the greater good of the side.

If we want to counter Liverpool we've got to be adept at winning the ball back effectively.

I think Sissoko's power to burst forward from deeper positions could really hurt Liverpool.

Personally I think the choice is between Dele and Son for this particular game.
