When I'm reminded he was here i remember but then it just disappears again and its always a complete surprise, its like Westworld and I'm a very specific robot who can never see Icelandic players in Spurs shirts.

Next you'll be telling me you don't remember emil halfredsson

Bit of shocking read, Davenport's wiki page.

All I remember for us is him scoring away at City in December 2006 when Hudd scored a screamer.

Referencing the OP...

I thought Guy Butters was going to be a superstar. Watched his early appearances and to me he looked the business. Playing alongside Steve Sedgley if I remember. Always wondered why he never got a second crack.

John Moncur anyone? Remember he scored a worldie in Glenn's testimonial. All the skill in the world but was a panic ridden player who couldn't under pressure.

Johnnie Jackson, CM that never got a chance being a leftie, and got stuck out on the wing. Did a season though before being outed.

Phill Ifill...all looked so promising.

Had high hopes for Rodrigo Defendi, Who wouldn't woth that name.

Not really obscure but I remember being over the moon when Poyet signed. He was a cracking player back in the day.

Rasiak. Excellent game against Liverpool, turned into dog shit, white dog shit, the stuff that was scattered all across the country in the 80's

Many a game of football was had where one of my pals thought they'd slid on the white lines on the pitch only to realise it was the 'evil white stuff'

He had that impressive debut against Liverpool and then completely disappeared.

Pat Corbett in the early 80's came on against Southampton scored the winner never played again - got badly injured I think

John Hendry scored twice at the Arse in an end of season win never seen again it for years was our last win their for years

The terribly sad tail of Peter Southey only ever played once before his death

Loads of others around that era Giorgio Mazzon played once then disappeared to Aldershot

surprised more recently no one has mentioned Andy Booth goal disallowed at Wham

stephen kelly was the only player that when he made the first team squad he would still go and watch the youth play.
